Another custom 6xc!

Roger that. Should be pretty interesting to see what velocities I can run them to. I'm getting the 115 VLD up to about 3050 ish so I'm hoping the 108 can get to about 3100 accurately. Still haven't decided on which is better the VLD or the DTacs. If the 108 shoots that much better I may just dump both!

Berger has introduced 6mm 105gr hybrid bullets which will outperform every 6mm bullet except for 6mm 115gr VLD which might still have an edge if you manage to get them to shoot accurately.
Still, a new NRA High Power 600 yards record was set with the Berger 108gr BT a week or so ago.

I've been testing the new Matrix 117 VLD (thick jacket) and it has a considerably higher BC than the pointed 115 DTAC. I'd estimate around 40-50 points higher.

So I saw some 300 gr 338 "hybrids" so I'm guessing the 105 will say hybrid on the box too.
I've got the 108 bts loaded up and ready to go to the range. Just gotta get some time when the weather eases off. The 107 mk has a higher bc than the 108 bt? Wouldn't have called that.

This is the old 115 DTAC, from before Tubb started pointing them. They are now only offered pointed and the G1 BC is about 0.588

The BC of the old 117 Matrix was lower. I'm estimating the BC of the new thick jacketed one to be about 0.630 based on some 800 yard testing I did. It is nearly 1/8" longer and the meplat is about 1/3 the size of the old one.

Marshal made these for me because I was exploding half the old ones in my Crusader. I've launched the new ones at over 3200 fps and all of them reached paper.

I depends on the size of the meplat. If its big, then pointing has a large effect, but if its already small, then pointing just removes the burr and uniforms them a little without increasing the BC very much.

I shot a bunch of the 108 bts at 200m and they perform very well. At least as good as the Dtac. Way easier to seat than the 115 vld. I got several 5 rd groups in the 1/2- 3/4 inch range which translates in to .25-.33 moa at 200m. Pretty happy with that for sure. Didn't get a measure on speed at all.
Now I've got 500 of the 105 hybrids from Jerry to try. With a BC slightly higher than the 115 vlds these should be very interesting bullets!

Good to hear your happy with the 108 Bergers, just don't buy all of them or I'll sell my gun.
Cheers

What twists are you running to stabilize the 115/7's or the 108's?
