Another Epps in Southern Ontario ??

I really can't wait to get out there and experience epps I have heard nothing but good things. But can agree that it would be nice to have a closer location as I live in mississauga and it's going to be a little drive to get out there. Just can't wait thinking about next weekend to make my first trip.

I am sure you with enjoy the experience. Don't expect a modern store...not a lot has changed since the 1950s. The staff are great and very knowledgeable. But you have to be a bit patient when they are busy... especially in the gun room on weekends. They have lots of staff, but most times I have been there you will have to wait a bit to be served.

I was thinking of this thread yesterday. While standing in line I got talking to a man and his son from London who had just driven two and a half hours to pick up some reloading supplies.

After paying 80 dollars for 1000 win 209 shotgun primers at Bass Pro (for the last time!!) a 2 hour drive seems ok. Bass pro charges (gouges) you twice the price of smaller retailers,... that tells me they have zero respect for their clientele

epps here I come

higgison has same product for $38. Bass pro is like a kick in the nards

Bought some premium Federal ammunition for my 338 and 308. My local gun shop (Shooters Choice in Waterloo) was selling a box for $85.00. Called Ellwood Epps. They were selling it for $65.00. Ordered 5 boxes and even with shipping it was cheaper at Epps and came right to my door.

Unfortunately I have had nothing but headaches dealing with these guys. They never seem to get the transfers correct which has cost me many tanks of fuel to drive up there.Their prices are good but not the best. I priced out a new .338 at Epps and saved $100 buying it local, with no transfer issues and $5.00 in fuel.

There will always be an isolated case of an unhappy customer, whatever your business.

I agree, that no gun shop is ever perfect. After hearing numerous glowing endorsements to buy a guy from Badger Arms Supply, a CGN sponsor as well, I am really regretting my decision to send them $800 on a gun that is "in stock"....that was 6 weeks ago, and I still don't have my gun, and I can't even get a honest answer out of them, because they won't return any of my many emails.

If Epps was in Southern Ontario, I would of bought from them....lol....but I just wanted to give another sponsor a try, and I am honestly regretting it.

P.S. I have noticed that this thread has turned into a really long running, popular thread, and because the author of this thread is obviously in touch with what Southern Ontario really wants and needs, I suggest that Epps hires the OP as a gun salesman if you do open up a second shop in Southern Ontario....agreed.

I would love to see an Ellwoood Epps gun store in the Kitchener, Cambridge, Milton, Guelph, Brantford, and Woodstock area. I would be in a line up for sure; plus I would be getting a second job cutting grass and raking leaves to support my second habit!

Six weeks is nothing. I ordered a gun from my local gunshop last December. They told me it would arrive in a couple of weeks. That was more than four months ago LOL.

If this gun ever arrives, it will be the last one I ever buy from them.

you guys who only have to drive an hour or so to get to epps man up. alot of the rest of the province have to drive4-6 hours to get there and we still make the trip. lets have a branch of epps in northern ontario.

Maybe we could convince them to offer a shuttle bus service like the Casino's do with the Hotels....... Actually CasinoRama is up there, so maybe they could run a hunters/gamblers shuttlebus special.....I think I'm on to something here.....Imagine how many guns would get sold if someone got liquered up and hit it big at the Casino, then went to Epps.
