Another FN C1A1: But this one is kind of unique

Who does Switzer send rifles to for deactivation?
I would like to get my semi Diemaco C8 with the old pencil barrel and carry handle done (when I am allowed to remove it from the house).

If you must... From what I know they do it in house, but can send to Marstar or Gunco or anyone else you want. A member here has sent guns for deactivation to multiple places and apparently they don't all do the same quality of work. <shrug> Why not sell it for export?

Wolverine in Virden always do a clean job. It's a little closer than the Ontario stores. It is my understanding that you can send them out for deactivation even now, but since you are in Alberta, you may want to see where your provinces counter-legislation takes you.

Export to who? Most guns cannot be imported even by the US and would have to be sold as a parts kit.

My family knows that when I die, it is time to start sending the 12(3), (4), and (5) Rifles and Submachineguns off to deactivation, with the proceeds from eventual sales accruing to the estate. I am sitting on ~20 "Classic" prohibs, with a further ~20 banned under the May 2020 OIC. It will be good, sustaining work for one or more skilled and knowledgeable gunsmiths. All are in pristine condition, so finding the right 'smith to do the careful work of producing wall-hangers which appear to be "live" is a must. If necessary, I have told my spouse and son to be prepared to ship as far as Virden and Wolverine Supplies, as their Gunsmith apparently knows his way around both prohibs and a welder. It will be a real shame when the time comes, and hopefully that won't be for another 20 years, but we never know. It won't matter to me at that point so whatever. Here are a few examples of what I'll be putting on the chopping block...

Keep it like it is if you can,why deactivate? I have an FN and while I haven't been able to shoot it for a long time, thank's to the lieberals, I don't have any intention of deactivating it. It may be a safe queen, but it's a functioning safe queen. I understand that buying something like this now may be a lot different than it was in the nineties.
