Just got a call from Wolverine Supply....

They have UBRs back in stock. For all you gear junkies.

Don't wish to start another "Is it worth it?" thread. More of a public (dis*) service

*to your common sense and bank account

Got Mine 3 days ago from wolverine nice stock but very pricey .I know a cheekriser for it will interfere with the charging handle on an ar , but hope they make one anyway mines on my xcr. nicest stock ive seen

Heavy, bulky & defeats the lightweight compact design of the AR.

True, in some respects. However, if your AR is neither lightweight or front heavy to begin with, it balances it nicely.

I'm not kickin doors, or humping gear through the thin air of Afghanistan, so the extra weight/size isn't a concern for me really.

Pricey? Heck yes. Can you re-sell it in a second, for very little loss - also heck yes.

that really does look badass though man. that makes me want to buy an ar just so i can buy a new stock for it:D and yes i will chug a few gallons of the koolaid for it lol

Yes

VERY heavy - not bulky-
Good for balancing front heavy AR's.

If you are humping in the sand box - not good.

If you are butt stroking goat fukkers in the face during house to house - good - (You dont need the strike plate for flesh - maybe for windows)
Remember all the soldiers humping smellies garands m14's etc. , mucho heavy guns -

Or as I use it - for 3 gun matches - 10 " AR , - less muzzle jump due to extra weight during double taps (I even put lead in my fore grip) - [after all its only for a few minutes of carry] - my double taps are super fast and accurate due to the weight advantage {with a pws brake}
Myself and others using my rig can do double taps on a steel gong at 200 yds because of the steadiness.:D

Everything has a use - depends on what it is - get what you need .

I love that clip in your sig...

Every time i see that it makes me laugh.

so just for fun a side by side of a CTR and UBR
The UBR cheek weld surface is a shade wider.

Yeah, but how's the cheekweld compare when the CTR isn't collapsed ? I shoot nose pretty much to charging handle, so the UBR is a lot more comfortable. Not a huge deal if you're just snapping the rifle up quickly, but if you're lying prone behind it for a while the UBR is definitely the ticket.

right you are.

If you go NTCH then the CTR cheekweld is your buffer tube. Milspec or commercial if you are enough of a connoisseur to know the difference <grin>

The UBR makes a difference when the temps drop... ok I'm a wuss.
