Anschutz 1761 problems

Thanks 45.i believe my mag sits a little to high.im going to try it again 2day,raining off and on will so will have range to myself, also trying out a vortex razor 4.5x27 that I could trade for.tried it last night and that l-tec or what its called zerostop is a great feature
,I see a.ot of people call the razor garbage kinda reminds me of the 60 and 70's the ford Chevy thing,meI drove anything lol.it is fantastic glass im sure there is better but man the razor is really nice.not sure would bye new because of finances but well worth the trade.

Received a reply from Anschutz America, they told me too cut two and a half levels off my spring,as well as round out the underside of the shell holder on the mag(apparently they are making these changes at the factory in germany) In regards to the action screw you are to be careful not to tourq in humid conditions because of the soft wood and plastic,I tourqed to specs and that caused my action screw to prevent my bolt from opening and closing. They advised me too cut a portion of my action screw .so I did,it still won't allow me to tourq to specs 2.5 nm because of the soft plastic guard and soft wood.the mag is useless now because of the cartridge ass goin back in mag and then getting pushed against feed lip or ramp, causing the lip to chip.all in a $2000 firearm the most expensive i have ever purchased. I don't know how many bent casings I had but to many.or scraped up noses from jamming into the roof of the chamber. Now I'm waiting for a mag from tesro that has been 2 weeks.wish I could just return it.when I had ejection issues with my savage mk2 they sent me parts that I received 4 days later.when my savage 10t came with a mag with a bent lip(actually knew when I tried it and bought it on sale trusting savage to make it right, even dealer agreed)they sent a mag rush delivery because I was heading north with it that week.anschutz is no we're near that in customer service in my books.

You should not have to be cutting springs and reducing the length of action screws etc to get a 1761 to function correctly! That rifle should have been replaced and/or repaired under warranty.
I've described in detail on here and on RFC the modifications I did to mine to get it to perform. Setting up rifles in Aus appears to cost considerably more than in North America but I have approx A$5k invested in my 1761 - Nearly what a Vudoo built to spec costs here. Yes, my 1761 functions perfectly now and can run with the Vudoo in the accuracy stakes but the Vudoo did all that straight out of the box!

Not sure how warranty claims work in Canada - Others here could offer more knowledgeable advice. I've only pursued one claim here in Aus concerning a new Anschutz 1710 with a major defect and I had no joy there - Had to buy the parts and fix it myself!

K thanks allan.i don't feel comfortable with this firearm at this this price.it feels off,I emailed ash at tesro about warranty.i just feel if they send me a new mag or 2 to try and I end up wasting another $50 in ammo that gets rammed to to the roof or bottom of chamber only to realize something is off.i already wasted $90 in ammo and now i can't shoot it at all with summer coming to an end(something you descendants of the criminal underbelly of the uk)don't have to worry about lol.

I'm the op and this is my story.well after emailing tesro back and forth for almost 2 months and dancing to many slow and fast songs I decided to leave the dance alone and mad.i decided to call Brad at nordicmarksmen and he told me what he told tesro who didn't tell me , that two offers were issued, one was too send me another mag or 2nd was to ship him the 1761 to look at,I took the latter feeling I might be spinning my wheels with another mag.got it back Tuesday and went straight to range(still have $200 some were)feeding works 100% extraction 90% overall I'm pleased(minus the wasted summer and $300 in ammo trying to get it to shoot,as we'll as having to buy a cz for my needs)turns out I had first addition mag and my bolt face which carries the cartridge and requires a tiny allen key to adjust was not set right.this was alot of typing for a grade six bushwacker.thanks all at cgn.

Theirs a tread on rim fire central about adjusting the inside “shell holder”/ extractor on the bolt to solve extraction problem. Guess the tension is adjustable with a tiny “Allen” screw.

Ya I responded in that today, yes a .7 hex is needed,it effects loading more then extraction but it effects both.surprised mine came with a target of a ten round group I believe,no way I was able to shoot 2 never mind ten. It jammed them to the roof right from get go.so kinda confused, cost me alot in ammo and had to purchase a 2nd 22lr for family get away to fill the spot of the 1761 which was to be used.

Maybe the factory shoots all the barrels on a test receiver seeing as the barrels are easily removed and are sold separately, does your test target have the receiver serial number on it. Just a thought could be wrong.
