Nordic has these in Stock. Pretty sweet looking rig, sprint barrel from the 1827f, nice adjustable stock. I'm sure they will sell fast.

Two things I despise about it tho, I can't stand that fat end of the barrel to me it needs to be a bull barrel or tapered barrel, not larger at the end. That basket on the side of the stock reminds me of a granny's bike with a basket in the front of it for her fresh baked buns lol

Lol. I could forgive all that IF it came with the 54 action.

Nothing wrong with the "running boar" style barrel, two of the most accurate guns I ever shot had them... and they feel very "balanced." It is a nice looking rig.

Always like to hear about the new Annies fr. Nordic.
There may be some little things I don't like about it, but as a complete package, it looks pretty well trick. Can't wait to hear a range report from someone. Hmmm, maybe if I sell my 40-X 22lr??

That rifle gives me a tingle in my nether-regions. I like everything about it (aesthetically) to be honest, but only have very little hands-on Anschutz experience. I don't know if the asking price is higher/lower than what the sum of the parts/action is actually worth, or, if there is a little added price for the novelty factor. I'd be curious to hear what some of the Anschutz guys say here.

If it is like the MPR or MSR, the fat end of the barrel may be grooved for attachment of front sights. The price is $195 above a new MSR, but with added features such as adjustable comb and butt pad, plus basket lol. You're getting what you're paying for. Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder though, and to me the style is :puke:

If it's a "tactical" trainer, shouldn't it be all, ya know, camo-y and stuff? I find these guns to be more utilitarian than made for beauty.

Oh grooved for a front sight. That would make much more pennies to me. I'd like a 54 action with a stainless barrel in a manners or McMillan stock for a trainer.

It may be grooved but I doubt it...

The purpose of a flared (Running Boar) barrel is two fold;

- it provides a reaward fulcrum as compared to a full diameter barrel for better, more "spritely" handling.
- it creates a "rebound" choke at the muzzle for better stabilization of the projectile and theoretically better accuracy.

Are you saying that it's a Running Boar rifle or a RB barrel?

I'd put my natures valley nut bars in that side basket while whistle pig popping! I'm guessing it's not welded on tho so that's a plus lol!

Its a Anschutz 64 Biathlon Sprint but without the sights.
IMO the Biathlon Sprint with the sights worth the extra 200$.

The only thing I don't like on those rifles is the small cheekrest. I would have loved it bigger...

Neither... I am saying that the "style" is similar to that of the running boar barrels that have been produced by many companies.

Current Anschutz rifles, with the exception of those with a hunting or sporter design like the 1416 and 1710/12 series rifles, have a "fatter" or "flared" end of the barrel at the muzzle in order to accomodate the front sight system. The barrel in this case is "flared" to take a front sight. Any stylistic similarity with Running Boar barrels must be coincidental or irrelevant.

All of the above was clearly speculation... so perhaps coincidental but not irrelevant.
