Anschutz MSR RX-22

After owning my SR22 for about a year now i have become fairly dissapointed with it. At least 4 or 5 stove pipes in every 25 rnd mag. Its time for it to take a back seat in the safeive been looking at the Anschutz RX22 as a replacement fun gun. Ive read a bit about it and watched a few you tube videos but there is not really any reviews on how this rifle actually performs. I hope that some actual owners can chime in and let me know what they think about theirs.
 
Are you sure it's not just the ammo? Have you tried different mags? I'm all for new guns but it might be something fairly simple to fix if the stovepipes are your only issue
 
I have tried many types of ammo. Golden bullets seemed to work best but still have many issues. Im using buttler creek 25rnd mags. I dont want to even bother with the 10 round ruger mags. This is supposed to be a fun gun and 25 rounds = fun. Also tried the hcr mags with same poor results.
Im just looking to hear about the rx22. I want a fun gun that is actually fun.
 
This gun is as finicky as it's issc cousin. I've had no end of trouble with it and as such will not buy another anschutz.

You might try searching for issc mk 22 spring mod and issc mk 22 bolt takedown on youtube. This will allow you to clean your bolt (something that anschutz does not recommend but it's necessary it seems lol) and adjust the force of the firing pin spring? which may help it's operation.
 
I just picked up the RX22 "Precision" model. Straight out of the box and too the range.
Tried, CCI Velocitor, CCI Stinger, Remington Yellow Jacket, AE high velocity, and the good old bucket of bullets.
Everything ran flawless with the exception of the bucket of bullets. Those were double feeding and misfiring 1 in every 10 or so(either light primer strikes or not fully in battery, not sure).
This thing is amazing for a semi auto. At 50 yards off a half decent rest, Roughly 1 MOA groups of 10 shots with the Velocitors and yellow jackets (with the occasional flyer due to me). The others were closer to 2 MOA.
It's only one trip, but I think that with some oil and cleaning, the bucket o bullets might run just fine as well.
I think I found my new grouse, rabbit, and gopher gun :)

You do realize Anschutz didn't make the rifle right? ISSC does with an Anschutz supplied barrel. You "could" assume the Anschutz barrel should be more accurate. But feeding, firing, extraction, ejection etc has nothing do with Anszhutz and only with ISSC. So your statement should read... I will not buy another ISSC.
 
My SR22 will stovepipe or jam/FTF with everything that is not a Butler Creek or Ruger mag. Seems par the course for these rifles. Actually, I did get a Tactical Innovations mag and that one seems to work too.

It is true that ISSC made the rifles. But Anschutz put their name to it. I know that their own manufactured rifles are of high quality. It's just their decision to make a quick buck on a sub standard piece of equipment (imho) that pisses the hell out of me. Hence why out of principle, I will not buy Anschutz ever again.
 
I have had an rx22 for a couple years now and have fired thousands of rounds through it. This is my go to rimfire for the range due to its accuracy, speed and handling. It has a great 2 stage trigger, you can place the charging handle on either side of the rifle which helps with the already great ergonomics and comes with a full length rail for mounting optics. It is serious fun, I handed it to an inuit elder once and he fired (as fast as possible) every mag I had with a huge smile. The other side of it is, she likes to be clean. If not cleaned regularly it wont run well and likes high velocity rounds although mine still shoots the cheap stuff with better then my 10/22. If you keep them clean and shoot fast ammo this is a great bit of fun.

When the rifle functions properly I'm all with you. It's a great rifle then. But I think I got one of the early ones which was just plagued with problems. Hence my opinion on Anschutz.
 
mine has been extremely reliable and fun to shoot, but its accuracy is less than expected.

very reliable tho, no problems at all. Smooth, easy to shoot, very stable. Kind of fun to see the bullets hit the target thru the scope.

Could you please prove the statement "Anschutz didn't make the rifle" with real evidence (not assumptions)?:nest: I have no interest in disputing your credibility, I'm just interested in this gun as I've seen up to here tons of very good reviews about it.
 
When I first got my SR22 I had a lot of stovepipes and double feeds. Then I swapped out the extractor (got one on amazon) and after that, the 10 rd ruger mag NEVER stovepiped or jammed. The butler creek mags were still finicky for a bit but I read somewhere that they need to be "broken in" so I ran about 200 rds through one and it gradually had fewer and fewer problems then none at all.

For the HCR mags, I found that if I put those 'extra 5 rds' in, I have lots of problems but if I just go with the 20 rds from the stripper clips, zero problems.

I also have some 110 rd drums, the first load through each one had some stovepipes but after that, no issues.

One problem I found was that the little plastic piston thing that is supposed to hold onto the mags wasn't engaging properly and if the mag was in too far or not far enough, I got jams. I swapped that out for a metal piston with a stronger spring (I think it was a kidd kit?) and a longer mag release and the problem went away.

I've been shooting mostly CCI Blazers, it seems to really like those
