anything in .50BMG will be sufficient for the 'super animals' seen on the last truly wild place on earth...
At least, that's what I read in a book one time

My taxidermist frowns on 50's on light game, he says he don't mind stitching up a few holes but a jigsaw puzzle a whole lot more expensive.
OK guys I've got a six place aircraft, who's in? We'll take off from Calgary next Jan and fly all the way down NA and SA to Patagonia, then hop across to Antactica and club (sorry harvest) some emperors and leopard seals then fly home. Should be a blast, besides how many people on the planet can say they hunted Antartica. I'll cover all costs, all you have to pay are your individual fines if we get caught. Who's with me? Enough Bull$##t, I'm doin' this.

The aircraft is a Piper PA-32-300 commonly known as a Cherokee 6 it has less than 4000 hrs TTAF and has 70 hrs on engine and prop SFRM, I am a 3000 hr comm pilot for 35 years and I wasn't planning a suicide mission. The whole thing is pointless if we don't survive!!! In have no intention of flying the Andes, not necessary, can go down the east slope all the way to Patagonia.
Although not IFR rated have done significant IFR work out of necessity here in the Yukon. Trust me, I like my a$$ arranged just the way it is and have no intention of potential rearrangement. I'm the safest pilot you'll ever fly with.
I also have a young friend who made a bucket load of flights to Antactica for Borek in the twin otters and he knows exactly where the new airstrip is that Pelly Construction (Yukon Contractor and good customer of mine) built there a few years back. He has all the co-ordinates and GPS points needed to make this a reality.
Start carving your club!!!!!

Just tell her you have to go out for beer or bread or whatever and show up back 2 weeks later.
"It is infinitely easier to ask forgiveness than permission" You're obviously not Catholic or you'd know this!!!
And yes I am SOMEWHAT serious. I would truly like to take a trophy from all 7 continents. I want to be able to sit in my rocking chair in my trophy room in years to come (before alseimers, sorry about the spelling) and look at each and every mount in my trophy room and relive the hunt, the culture, the new friends etc..........Isn't this what old age is about, the trails we blazed, the friends we made, the hardships we overcame and the successes we achieved?
I could be wrong but this is how I percieve my hunting experiences around the world.

The one thing stopping me is the fact I've read quite a few books on Antarctic exploration; Amundsen,Scott,Shackleton, etc.
Perhaps we have better equipment now................ or perhaps I'm arrogant to think that.![]()
We're only going to be there for a day, we ain't sledding to the pole for Chri$t$akes, club a couple pennies, whack a few leo seals, kill as many cats as we can get hairs on and get the hell out!! This ain't no D-day invasion, it's a seal team (pardon the pun) hit and git program. All you need is 22-250 or equiv. and a club!!! Jan is mid summer and weather is quite nice I'm told.
