another thought was having something mounted on the trains that emit a sound that the animals can hear at a higher pitch when the train is moving at a certain speed. that would get them off the tracks and out of danger.
The Port of Vancouver have told the Freighters to slow down leaving the harbour and the straight on the coast to help the killer whales so why can't the trains slow down in certain areas.

Well, it’s in mainstream media now. It’s all being investigated. I suspect the guy who made that stupid video is done. I also agree there has to be a solution somewhere if people put their heads to it. It will come down to cost unfortunately.
Wildlife belongs to the crown. If a herd of animals was killed routinely on private land because of industry, industry would get its ass kicked.
Check the railway act. They wont. - dan
The power of railways is a good example of what happens when private companies are given huge power in return for some investment without thinking long term. Isn’t Mosaic’s control of land on VI from a railway agreement in times past?

Railways even have their own armed police forces and don't hesitate to pass out tickets. Get in an accident with a train, it's your fault, Period and you're responsible for any damages. Goes back to the days of Confederation, they're a law onto themselves.

Butcherbill,
CP has made safe crossings for vehicles and pedestrians since the rail was built. Wildlife is apparently of no concern to them
Huh? What does this have to do with anything?Ban Antelope, or trains. Better yet just ban more guns that seems to be the only tool in the governments toolbox.
Lol.
Want to pay double for freight? There is wildlife along almost every mile of the railroads that cross Canada.
Find out how many grizzlies are killed by trains every year. Let me know the number, if you ever find out the truth.
PS - I'm not saying anything should be done about the grizzlies being killed on the tracks, I just don't want CP to have the monopoly grizzly population control. I'd like a tag to hunt them next year.
PPS - CP is not an ordinary corp. They have their own police force, which should tell you how far you'll get on your fact finding adventure.
I'm not saying every mile across Canada. This isn't about grizzlies or moose. This is about a HERD of antelope. It's not acceptable. I don't care if they are not an ordinary corp. If they can afford their own police force they can afford to do something about it. Maybe figure out what areas are of concern and patrol the tracks with their so called police force, give them some exercise they probably don't do much anyway. lol
