Antique Photos--Post what you got

Haven't posted anything to this thread in a while. Here is an interesting gun that I recently picked up. This heavy barrel Target Rifle has a 33" barrel in .62 caliber. The barrel is 1 7/8" across the flats. It also has double set triggers. The rifle is equipped with 36" long Malcolm scope that has magnification. It has false muzzle and bullet starter. The complete package weights in at 27Lbs. The rifle is in amazing condition with very nice bore with sharp rifling and very tight action. Oh I forgot to mention the barrel is stamped S. Hawken St Louis :)

Considering that we still hear occasionally about guys letting off a round with their boresighter still in place, the gizmo to block the scope view when the false muzzle is on is a really neat touch.
A beautiful rifle.

Wow! Real nice find Brian. You always seem to turn up some dandies. Nice to see there are still some treasures to be found in this country.

Just a few more photos of the Hawken Heavy Rifle for those that are interested. I can't take credit for the photography.

Nice photos. You know I'm sure, but other folks might be interested: I was just reading a bit about Hawken and if correct, your rifle was made between 1849 and 1861. Just in time for you-know-what!
