Antique Photos--Post what you got

I guess I could toss in some photos of also rans :>) as a bit of eye candy.

first is a Deane, Adams and Deane 20 guage @ 1860s then a William Pape @ late 1860's, a Danish pinfire by Christensen and finally my duck gun, a WW Greener from the late 1880s or early 90s

Doug do them sodered Pinfire shotgun cases you make up stay together when shot :confused:

Im thinking about makeing some 14 Ga brass ones on my lathe and soder brass tubeing to the resized bases?
I remember seening some of these Shotgun pin fire cases at the Nanimo gun show a few years ago, you had em there i think.
Beats paying $8 each for ones from the US.

I have a Stevens 14 ga Antique Shotgun now :)
 
I think I was getting a bad connection last night, got the email and it is a beauty.

I have never seen a gun with the firing pins attached to the hammers before. Very interesting piece.

the body of the pinfire case is actually made from expanded 1/2" water pipe with the first bit left original and soldered into a base made from solid brass. They stay together fine but the plastic bodied one only lasted for one or two shots.

Wilkinson 1892

Well My new Wilkinson 1892 showed up and its as nice a Antique Shooter as any guy could ever want :)
Its a 455/476 gun with .460 chamber throats. Im so impressed with it as they are the Lightest gun for there huge size and the Ballance is perfect.
Has and Ex bore Mint Chambers ;)
Id say one of the best pre 1898 guns made in England anyway!

I figured some of you might enjoy a photo of an old sixgun I just received last week. It's a S&W Schofield, chambered in the 45 S&W. This particular sixgun was purchased for use by the US Cavalry in 1876. It was likely used in the Indian wars between 1876 and 1880, when all Schofields were retired from use by the Cavalry. These Schofields saw heavy use by the 4th Cavalry against the Apaches under Geronimo. They were also used by the 9th and 10th Cavalry, and a loaded Schofield was found at the scene of the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1883. It is now in the Smithsonian ( http://americanhistory.si.edu/militaryhistory/exhibition/flash.html?path=6.1.r_522 ). Here's a photo of my new antique six-shooter:

Heres a couple pics of my Second model Schofield.
Its a Comercial Model one of 650 guns and was Factory nickled which makes it very rare, Tho its mainly Shiney steel now.
The gun functions like new and has a Tight lock up.
should be a great shooter. :)





 
This is my new (old) S&W. It's made before 1897 and is a .44 Russian. I believe it is known as a S&W #3 DA New Navy, but I'm still doing the research on that. Maybe one of the readers here will have someting to add. It is an antique, so no PAL is needed.
I have obtained 50 new brass cases and plan to load them and shoot it. The gun is in fairly good mechanical condition, but has been worn down until no finish remains and the metal has all turned a pleasing brown patina. I like old guns with honest wear. Makes me think the original owners thought enough of it to use it for many years.

I picked this .380 Revolver up at a gunshow needing a hand and trigger return spring. After making these, it now functions in single and double action. Some 38 S&W will chamber, but the accuracy is lacking and the odd keyhole. KD

I have the origional holster and belt for it, just waiting for the actual gun. It was my wifes Great Grandfathers and was issued to him in WWI. I also have the lantern he used while doing night patrols.
 
It's Saturday, and my wife bought some fancy material for draperies for my office this week. I looked at that material and thought, 'Hey, that would make a good backdrop for another desktop photo of my 2nd Model American, Commercial Russian Model, made around 1873." Below that photo is one that was posted a while ago, but the two make a nice set. The second photo is of a S&W New Model #3 that letters with a 6" barrel and was shipped in 1880. If anyone would like a hi-res version of either of these to use as a desktop for their computer (around 2 Mb each in size), PM me your email and I'll attach a hi res version in my reply.
