1766 charleville
Hello Gentleman for your perusal here is a 1766 Charleville I built from a 32 year old miroku kit!!
I finally had a chance to try her out since shes been built.
Ignition seemed instant and she generally handled very well, sure shes not a original, but is antique status!
She may just be the finest functioning flintlock I have.. Bess is jealous

I bought the canteen off of ebay from a man who makes them, It required me to seal it with generous amounts of 100% bees wax within and on the outside.
Its a good canteen!
Im really happy with the musket, she turned out beyond well, works just great
!That's a nice rig. It looked like the ones she makes. The one she made that I bought is tight as a drum, no wax needed. I did read that they used to use a tiny drop of peppermint oil in the water if they used parafin to seal a barrel so try that if the water tastes weird. I should get off my lazy @ss and take some pictures of my gear. I have an original charleville that I shot when I first started shooting black powder.

You should post a picture of that....
A origional -still fireable barrels-
charleville and a origional Bess in likewise shape are 2 arms I really pine for.... even if they were broken up a bit....Though both in said condition... are about as pricey as Colt single action armys in 41 cal built before 1890
So Im happy with my modern made Charleville and Bess at least for now...
