thank you my friend , the grips are 100% real ivory (hot needle test) and bare makers name but its hard to read, I am sure you will disagree on the nicest part after seeing this one , a first generation ,unfired ,never dry fired,with original box and one of the finest first generation colt's today according to some known Colt appraisers ,Randy is a very good knife maker ,saw some real nice steel Bowie's from him and those will be my next purchase

I want to thank the members that P.M'd me ,for asking more info on the SAA colts
the ivory mexican eagle gripped colt was shipped to Boston, the colt is in original condition and has two minor flaws,some los of blue on the triggerguard ,that's the dull spot you see on the triggerguard,the barrel is in new condition and looks like a polished mirror,cal.45,the previous owner said that the grips where always on the colt

and the other SAA is one of the last 27 ,six digit colt's sold, one day someone come's up to my place with two single actions ,not interested in guns and he wants to sell them ,I had to buy both of them
one of them was an unfired pre-post war colt ,unfired with colt letter
the other a .45 made in 1913 refinished ,engraved and with Ivory carved grips ,the colt had a letter and was refurbished with a long flutes cylinder,
the asked price was a steal,let's say it was an offer I couldn't refuse
a scarce, sub -catagory, first generation colt,see the shipping date on the colt letter and the copy from the Single action encyclopedia

Bob some really impressive and truely beautiful guns! Its allways such a thrill to have the provenance and yours are certainly well "papered". Thank you for sharing these. I've rarely had the opportunity to see (let alone purchase) examples as fine as yours, here in Alberta. Some awesome collecting, and great to see them in the hands of someone who appreciates them and not just in a museum!!

Very impressive Colt collection Bob! 
What can I say Bob.. WOW!! Truely beautful collection. Definitely leaves one with the impression that ol'e Samuel Colt was not just a craftsman but an artist! No black/green gun could ever hold a candle to that display of "classic" iron!!!!
