Antique Photos--Post what you got

Very intresting gun!
i never seen another one like that id be hanging onto both of them guns Dave there just gona go up in Value as theres so few Pryse type guns out there left in the world.

Skinny About 1877 to 1884.I reload with BP,Treat the old gals nice.Components readily Avail.Dingus the Little one came from the States,When I saw it I had to have it as a companion gun for my Pryse.Turns out its the same builder.AF out of Liege. Its in 450 retailed by P.Orr and sons Madras India.Has No 160 Bn engraved on the backstrap,Later on it looks like someone Carved out British Bulldog on the top strap.Crude engraving.Loved it so much i made a holster for it.Check the pics let me know what you think,Dave

Just saw your ad on the EE for the guns. Those are basically Belgian copies?

These guns were made by Auguste Francotte out of Liege Belgium.Well made by a reputable gun maker,Who held many patents.Ive never seen another gun like the 450 so its not a copy of anything.

That gun looks a lot stronger than a Pryse; the cross bolt locking the cylinder and barrel down is a lot more robust than the two pins of a Pryse

cheers mooncoon

In the case of your Pryses there as good as any British made Pryse if not better i know ive had about 6 of them bigger type the little one i have never seen another one like that myself.
There quality is top of the line as good if not better than alot of others made in england.
I had two that were presentation guns one had wilkinsons and sons name on the barrel but the frames were made in liege.

The fact there AF made makes them very collectable. a heck of a deal for what your asking id buy them myself but went thru my pryse phase of collecting.

In the mail as we speak well as soon as i get antique letter...cant wait.

Just mention that they were made in Belgium and all is fine, it's still a copy, no matter how different and how good - > generally lower price.

Scianna I did mention they were made in Liege, thats in Belgium.Next time Ill put it in Bold Italics just for you.Generally lower price than what?

Here's one that recently came my way. Manufactured in 1885, London address in .476 Eley. Mint bore, chambers & mechanically tight, with excellent grips... My photo ability is sketchy though!

Two more added to the herd!

The gun at the top is not an antique but it has been "Antiqued" to look like an old 1873 SAA in .45 Colt..it is a great shooting gun.
The pistol at the bottom is an antique Belgian Boot Pistol around .440 cal (circa-1840-1880???) a really fun little gun which I am fixing up to shoot reduced loads. The barrel is supposed to screw off but it doesn't,hoping that shooting it will loosen it up.

Very nice..best example I have seen. Would look good in a case with all the accessories and no trigger lock.
I got a period mold for mine from Joe Salter..great service.
Are you planning on shooting it??

Dave, that's a fine 49! It should be allowed to smoke.

I got this Uhlinger .32 rf today. Great bore, and very tight gun. I will waste a few cartridges with it for sure.
