Gents, I just had an antique Swiss 1882 plus 15 rounds of .32 S&W Long stolen from my home by a man I trusted like a brother. The police have been called and are working on it. Clearly he had never been trustworthy and been manipulating me for months!

If anyone comes across this piece (S/N 2621) it is stolen and I ask that the police be called. I have no doubt the gun is now in the hands of criminals and is a danger to everyone.

My advice to fellow antique revolver owners is be careful who you trust with the knowledge you own them. The keys to my safe were stolen right from my room while I was downstairs.

Of course its in the hands of criminals.

It left your house in criminal hands.

Since who took it is known... pretty good livelihood it will come back. One way or the other.

This is my thoughts also... and honestly I don't think it's a great danger. An old rickety revolver and a few rounds of incorrect ammo isn't of much interest to the types doing battle in the streets... but yeah, it was stolen by a criminal

It seems like an odd choice though... Gangsters wouldn't be that interested in such a piece, and you'll never get fair market value for it from them. I would call around to the local gun stores and just give them a heads up, maybe he'll try to sell it to one of them.

And don't advertise the fact of having "valuables" stored in the home.
All homes have "valuables" of one type or another. The thief was a trusted friend of the OP "stolen from my home by a man I trusted like a brother". As posted above, I guess the solution is to trust no one.

Nope. I won't let a few douche bags turn me into an untrusting loner.

That revolver might be old, but it's certainly not rickety. They also shoot 32 S&W Long quite accurately! That was the police service round for many many years, and in the hands of a criminal, can and will be deadly.

DON'T TRUST PEOPLE IN YOUR GUN ROOMS ! FOR F**K SAKES! I barely allow my family to visit me in mine :)

I'm aware that any gun can be dangerous... you may have missed the point. The gun in question is of little street value. It doesn't have the same panache as a glock. Sure it'll put a hole in a mother f@cker but just won't do it with style. ;)

To each his own. I only have a small group of people that I truely consider friends, but I'd trust all of them in my gun room. Then again, I've known them for half my life, and have lived with each of them at one time or another.

Of course others make it into my house for various reasons. Most of them don't even know I own guns, it's none of their damn business.

I thank everyone for their support. I'm just praying that someone doesn't get killed because of my mistake in trusting this person. The police apparently put the serial on CPIC, if it turns up they told me I'd get it back.

It took a bit of doing to convince the officers that this is not a prohibited weapon! Not "designed" or "adapted" for a .32 cal round, but can safely shoot one. Clear as day to me, clear as mud to them.
