If it is registered, it would have real value, all SAAs do.
If you get rid of the barrel and cylinder, you should be able to register it as restricted. Then take it and have a new barrel and cylinder installed in a caliber other than 32.

For the record this is NOT my gun, I was asked for advice, the old fellow is not doing well health wise and his family is asking.......
I suspect they would like to keep it in the family as it is a family gun, better welded up then destroyed.......
