Any 22 LR recommend?

Thank you Sir, I am looking for a wood one, bolt action, sometimes using for fun shooting but if it can hunting would be better but I believe it do not have much choice for hunting by this caliber right? My budget is less than 1000 would be best.
Right on, the choice for hunting might be a lighter rifle for carrying in the field as opposed to a heavier barrelled target type set up.

The people suggesting CZ's aren't wrong that's for sure for a nice wood bolt action that suits your needs, I will let the CZ fans suggest a nice hunting version. The Tikka T1x comes in wood but it's about $300 more then the Plastic version at around $1100.00

CZ457 American or Lux depending if you want iron sights?

Keep an eye on the EE as well for older blued and walnut bolt actions .22lr's that come up for sale..... lot's out there!

You can hunt squirrels and rabbits and other small game with a .22lr- I’d pick up a cz457 since it satisfies all your requirements or a CZ452 like FLHTCUI suggests. There are some for sale on here.

One I really like, and have myself, is a Winchester 69A. There’s also the cheaper single shot ones from all sorts of brands you can find around $200-300.

Look for an old CIL ANNIE thats been looked after. This question requires a target budjet to have an answer that has relevance. If your budjet allows, an old 54 action will put a smile on your face but at a higher cost.

Id definitely recommend having a CZ457, its an amazing platform to build upon if you want to get into 22 comp shooting without going full out.

CZ 457, get a stock and barrel type you love and it could shoot a lot tighter groups than a 10/22
I have both, they both serve a very different purpose and are both just as enjoyable.

Will always advocate for a Cooey. Getting a nice 75 will go a long way, they're incredibly accurate rifles for what they are. Lotta folks will scoff at a single shot, but you don't have to worry about loading magazines or whether you remembered to pack them for that range outing. Just leaves you with a slow steady shooting pace where you can focus on the shot, rather than blowing through a mag.

Something a bit on the more modern side, any of the CZ .22 line will always be a great option. Put a few extra pennies down for quality SV ammo and you'll be amazed how well a .22 can perform.

As for the whole "Just search" BS. Information changes rapidly, especially in our current situation regarding firearms. I would rather get new information and input from folks rather than digging into a thread from a year or more ago. Just calm your tits and let people talk. Some of us enjoy helping out.

If you want a good quality one you can go for CZ 457 But the Anschutz ones are really nice. Really nice fit and finish and very very accurate!

Hey guys, I got a Ruger 10/22, just wondering is there any more .22LR gun recommend? Thank you!

I don't plink anymore and it is exactly why I sold my Remington Nylon 66 decades ago.

You want more gun than your abilities IMO. This way you cannot blame the gun; you can only blame yourself. Which is why I chose a CZ 457 MTR. A very good gun for the money at just over a grand.

Of course you can always get an Anschütz for $4000 but it won't make a difference when starting out.

I mean good thing about 22s, you'll get more. Even though I got 2 Anschutz's, I still got a few others.

These are also good choices.

CZ 455/457
Tikka T1x
Anschutz 54/64 series

These are cheaper plinkers

Savage MK2.
Cooey 39/75
Henry Lever.
Mossberg 144
Toz 8M

Hello Georgeski,

I started out with a 10/22 and lots mags...........now added precision bolt, lever action and just found a beauty Cooey Model 82 but you can never have enough plinkers, I always bring along one of my 22's when going to the range with bigger stuff.
Plus it is cheap to buy different types of ammo to find out what works best for gun(s)

I would look at a savage mark II not super expensive and they are accurate. I have a heavy barrel mark II and it's a great rifle, bolt action but you can get 10 round mags for around $35. They are also available with a range of stocks so you can probably find one you like the look of. One note on stocks, for a heavy barrel I find the composite (plastic) stock to be a little light which shifts the weight balance a bit forward
