Any 22 LR recommend?

Thank you Sir, I am looking for a wood one, bolt action, sometimes using for fun shooting but if it can hunting would be better but I believe it do not have much choice for hunting by this caliber right? My budget is less than 1000 would be best.
Right on, the choice for hunting might be a lighter rifle for carrying in the field as opposed to a heavier barrelled target type set up.

The people suggesting CZ's aren't wrong that's for sure for a nice wood bolt action that suits your needs, I will let the CZ fans suggest a nice hunting version. The Tikka T1x comes in wood but it's about $300 more then the Plastic version at around $1100.00

CZ457 American or Lux depending if you want iron sights?

Keep an eye on the EE as well for older blued and walnut bolt actions .22lr's that come up for sale..... lot's out there!

You can hunt squirrels and rabbits and other small game with a .22lr- I’d pick up a cz457 since it satisfies all your requirements or a CZ452 like FLHTCUI suggests. There are some for sale on here.

One I really like, and have myself, is a Winchester 69A. There’s also the cheaper single shot ones from all sorts of brands you can find around $200-300.
