any 9mm revolvers?

The last North American 9mm revolvers were the Ruger Blackhawk Convertable, the S&W 940, and the Ruger SP01. The last two were of the small frame style, five shots, and used moon clips.

I believe JKH owns the Ruger.

9mm revolver

In 1989 a couple of the major handgun companies introduced 9mm revolvers that were chambered for a 9mm rimmed cartridge called the 9mm Federal. Died a quick death and the brass is no longer available.

IIRC S&W and Ruger were the last to make a 9mm Revolver, and they didn't work properly - ejection issues.

Horse hockey!!!Big ones too!

The Ruger Blackhawk convertible comes with two cylinders....9mm & .357magnum.

A good friend of mine has been working on some nice slightly lowered power loads with the 9mm and the gun is a tack driver. No extraction problems at all! The only thing I would suggest is don't use any higher power plain lead loads with the shallowing rifling or it lead up real fast. Keep the loads moderate with lead, factory metal jacketed work fine!

It's an excellent 9mm revolver that I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to go that route. It uses regular 9mm Luger cartriges, no special rimmed brass is required!

How about a Manurhin MR73? I do not know if they were ever imported into Canada but a few made it to the States. Lastly, HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Regards, Richard:D

notice he said "modern"?- it depends on your interpetation of that word- modern could be recent manufacture or "modern design" ie double action- which the blackhawk is not- it's an updated single- as for the performance of the 9 in the 357 bore, there's other's that have had somewhat less stellar performances with it-

Smith made a 9mm revolver, for a French police contract, and some were sold in North America. Model 547, I believe. Short enough barrel to be 12(6), and a longer than standard round butt. Hammer spur was slightly bobbed. Used clips, of course.

Yes the S&W 547 it came with a 4' barrel was sold to the Israeli police and a EU country , great pistol had a standard round butt grip did not require the use of moon clips had an ingenius leaf spring ejector , was loaded from HKS speedloaders

tiriaq, those puppies are expensive here. I should have bought one when they were closed out at $200. I know, if you snooze you lose. I have shot M547 revolvers and they are a dandy. Regards, Richard :D

Very true, it's a modern design of an older action, i.e. a single action with a tranfer bar.

I was very surprised at the level of accuracy with the 9mm load. The stupid thing will shoot clover leafs all day long. While I'm not a big fan of single actions, they are fun to shoot. Saves a fortune on ammo because of the slower reloading.

Hi,

Well, I guess my definition of modern was something along the lines of DA currently in production with parts available, hehe, so i guess the answer is no...

Thanks, all!

the ruger blackhawk has 6 holes- don't know about the rest, but anything on a 38/357 frame that has 6 should be the same- they just use a "short " cylinder and sometimes don't even bother to change the barrel- by rights it should be a 355, not a 357

If you have 12.6 I'm sure you can find both a 547 and a 940 on the Exchange.

Parts aren't a problem.
