To anyone that bought the new gsg 110 round drum mag, how does it shoot? All I see are posts of people grinding them to fit the sr 22 and loading them up, but nobody is actually giving a real functionality report. I dont think I could handle having one of these sit in my house for a week or so and not actually fire it lol.
:ar15:

Same here, no issues with the drums performance in the SR-22. It's a little bit heavy when fully loaded.
The gf said I (Mr.Serious) had a big smile for about 3 continous minutes while firing. Hard to imagine that a magazine can make shooting so much fun.

Only loaded it once , found it a little stiff every ten ish rounds. found it was very sensitive ie don't let it touch your arm the table etc when shooting other wise I have a pro mag for sale now lol

Fired a full 110 rounds out of this thing twice, and I only got one jam or two, and that was deffo ammo related (I was using loose box bulk ammo and some bullets were seated too loosely in their cases, will never buy ammo this way ever again). YYMV but this is one of the most reliable 10/22 mags I've ever used.

I've got one and I tried loading it with Olin surplus DND ammo (the only ammo I have).

Got hung up, called Ryan who explained the technique. Got hung up, called Ryan, he said to remove the head and shake
out the bullets. Didn't have to do that as it turned out. Then somehow it became known that this ammo is waxed, or is purported to be.

When I called back to Sally that I wanted to return it, she said she was sorry that it didn't work out for me and reminded me to send
them the traacking number.

Got it all packed, and addressed. Was heading for the Post Office, but it was pouring rain.

Phone rang. Another girl said that the mag was used and I couldn't return it.

So, what's with this waxed ammo issue? I went on some other sites similar to this and it seems that ALL .22
ammo is waxed.

Also, I have shot hundreds of rounds in my Ruger using a trimag, HC3Rs and BC25s. No hiccups. So what gives?

I've loaded my gsg drum with 110 rounds waiting for a hunting trip. Yes it's waxed CCI Blazers but that's all I have right now. To anyone providing a range report please state what ammo you're using so we can all learn. Thanks!

I have not brought mine out to the range yet but it doesn't seem to fit properly. I have a 10/22 carbine with synthetic stock and it just seems to not seat properly as the well is too tight. It doesn't "click" in like other mags i own and requires a lot of force in and out. I'll follow up once i'm done testing/tinkering.

I'll be using Winchester Wildcat .22

Tight in wood stock 10/22. Filed to be really tight, but positive click in SR22.
Mini Mags definite no-go. Too waxy I guess. Never more than 3-4 rounds without a hang up. I manually ejected the last 50 or so.
Fed 525 bulk had 1 ftl in three full drums. Yahoo!
Grin city walking down any movable target!
Loads easy with proper technique. one time, I had an issue and it would not load past about 8 rounds. I just ejected them and started over. Then there was no further problems.
tilt it slightly back while loading. you can wind it out and drop in four rounds before releasing each time, but to be safe I just really sad how to rain surkhetra and to keep them tight. Wow speech to text. release after each round to keep them tight.
Love it, I will buy another one soon.

I have a review and quick video up on the (locked) sfrc thread.
I am using Fed bulkin my Nomad, did no sanding or fling...and I just dumped 110 rounds (on camera).
This was my first FULL mag dump....loaded it last night....and I had to pull the charger back at shot #7 and again at #15....and after that it all fed as smooth as glass. Simple ftes...no binding/shaking/prying required...

I love these things...I have 3 aa92s and they ALL suck.

Agreed...keep the rounds snug together...one at a time. I used Fed bulk too, works fine!

Sorry to hear folks having trouble....that's what my aa922's were like. I left my Nomad home the last 6 months. This mag has made it my favourite again!!
Thank you GSG...and thank you, the free market.

Just got my two in the mail today. One has manufacturing defects ( two missing pins)
Very disappointing. One mag fits and locks up fine, the other one is missing the short steel pin that goes through the top of the mag and latches into the 10/22's mag-well. So there is nothing to lock the mag into the mag-well. Pretty big let down for a $120 mag. Quality control at GSG?
No opinion here, just fact.

All the tightness was from the stock, so i filed down the stock inside the mag well a bit where the mag seems to flare out a bit at the bottom. Mag still doesn't "click" in and out like other mags but it does lock securely in place, will make further adjustments.
However with wildcat .22's I was able to dump all 110 rounds with no issues pulling the trigger as fast as I possibly could.

Did anyone notice the link that Blueline gave to show their version of the new compliant mag doesnt work!!? Then the thread was locked? Why the hell did they lock it? Jesus.......
