Any actual field reviews of the 110 round gsg drum mag?

I am using mine in my SR22 and I am using M22 Winchester ammo it is perfect I had a bit of trouble at first as I was playing with it and wound it up and it slipped and spun around and than it would not load more than 25 rounds I took it apart and found the follower had bent when it spun around and smashed into the stop and this prevented it from sliding down when the rounds were going to the next level, I straightened it and it runs perfectly I have shot about 4 drums and not a hiccup, if the suckers weren't so expensive I would buy another in a heartbeat

gcdavidson: if it's because of the slight flare at the bottom, then check earlier in this thread (or is it another thread?) where pics were posted of the area that needed to be filed and showed what it looked like after. It's only a couple minutes with a file, though yeah, I'm assuming it would void a warranty.

Thanks for info on the flare, sure enough, that appears to be the issue. I took some measurements and it does flare out about 1mm at the bottom. Doesn't sound like much, but its enough. I'll see if the vendor will cover my ass before I file it.

follow up - vendor got back to me and stated that filing to fit won't effect warranty (provided the problem is not caused by excessive filing). So, I removed the metal to green lines in the pic above and finished it with some sandpaper working up to 1000 grit. It now fits fine in my Nordic 10/22 with the slightest bit of wiggle; its tight in my SR-22 with no movement at all, but takes a bit of force to get it to 'click' in, and its still too wide for my Archangel Nomad stock, which is OK as I don't mine widening the opening of that stock to make it fit.

I had that problem with mini mags. federal bulk, no problem.
Now it seems (~1000 rounds) that the feed/dummy strip has come loose from the drum, so it is no longer functional. It says do not dissassemble, but I don't see another option. How much spring tension could there be? Hold my beer and watch this! :D

Make sure you hold the sucker that you spin as you take the head off then unwind it like every other drum magazine that's how you take them apart also count how many times it unwinds before there is nothing left that way you can wind it back up as you put it back together.

Recently purchased 2x GSG 110 round Drum Mags from SFRC for my cousin and I.
So far the GSG Drum Mag worked flawlessly in both our 10/22 wood stock carbine model.
We used CCI Blazers to test it out (40 grain) 535 bulk ammo, loaded 110 bullets, fired every round without any feeding issues. (fired half the mag as fast as I could to put it to the test)
My cousin had 1 jam due to the firearm itself.
I have nothing negative to say about this drum, neither of us had any issues whatsoever loading the 110 rounds, attaching the mag or feeding issues. She clicked in smooth and with ease.
Pretty smooth for 220 bullets shot at rapid fire!

Have they made changes to their new mags? Or we just got lucky?

IMO this is a must have for the collection =)

Which problem did you have with your first drum Konrad? Loading the drum? Feeding issues? compatibility issues with the drum/stock?

I really hope this second mag doesn't let you down Konrad, it's a long overdue item! :) Good Luck!

I bought one from Prophet River in Alberta. Sorry if I'm not supposed to say other advertisers names here, chalk it up to being new. Mine is very well built, fits into my ATI tactical stock perfect, and loves federal bulk ammo. After 1000 or so rounds, I've had one jam. I'll probably buy another one, seeing as it takes 10 minutes to load. Only downfall I have is my speedloader isn't very speedy on this mag for whatever reason. Quicker to do it in singles.
