Any DAO Pistols available/ever available in Canada?

I've seen a few Beretta 92fs DAO for sale on the EE over the years.

There was also a Para LDA I believe it is. The LDA stands for Light Double Action. The hammer is partially cocked and the shooter finishes the pull.

years back Dlask (i believe) brought in a batch of rebarreled sigs, cop department trade in i believe.......can't remember the exact model, but DAO in 40

Beretta sells the Storm Pistol with an extended barrel for Canadians, Stoeger is the distributor - so any gunshop that deals with Stoeger (most do) can order one, if they import it. It'll be on their order sheets if it's available. That said, if you're looking for one other than you are, or want to, work for CBSA - they're pretty marginal guns, hence the number of agencies that have adopted them (1).

Easy to convert a 92 or 96 FS or G into a DAO. If you are interested, PM me. Also same for a GP100. Going in the other direction however...there is a little more to it.

They imported the px4 D models it for CBSA. There were a couple that went to the public but that was it. That's what Nick told me when he was around.. RIP Nick Manioudakis.

One of my friends was able to get one and I was able to shoot it. I liked it and that is the reason for trying to source one.

I just purchased a S&W M&P 9mm range kit that is a DAO.

Though the M&P would probably work for him it's technically not a DA pistol. You have to rack the slide in order to shoot.

What's the difference? If you have a light strike (miss fire, bullet don't go boom) you can just pull the trigger again and attempt the shot again (with a DA pistol). With the M&P you would have to rack the slide to try again - though it will eject the round or show a jam or what not...

The trigger pull will be like that of a DAO pistol though in which case it may suite OPs needs!

Fair enough
