Any DAO Pistols available/ever available in Canada?

Any Grand Power pistol is a DAO if you remove the sear and spring.
If desired, there are DAO plugs available to replace the safety levers.
You can also get the specific hammer without the spur.

Technically I believe the Boberg line of pistols are DAO: hammer is 100% down on every locking of the slide (by locking, I mean the insertion of a round in the chamber and the barrel rotating to lock into the slide; not any manual locking by the operator or other issue). The hammer is a flat plate too: nothing you are supposed to pull manually.

S&W built some too, if memory serves. - dan

They sure did and still do (RCMP's model 5946). From 1990 they manuf. lots of DAO third gen semi auto pistols (5943, 5946, 4043, 1086, 4583, 4586) to name a few.

The key to S&W model numbering is as follows:

First two digits - caliber and frame type (for 9mm only).
10xx 10mm
22xx .22 rimfire
39xx 9mm single stack
40xx .40 caliber
45xx .45 caliber
59xx 9mm double stack full size
69xx 9mm double stack compact

Third digit - trigger type and frame size
xx0x TDA full size
xx1x TDA compact
xx2x Frame decocker full size
xx3x Frame decocker compact
xx4x DAO full size
xx5x DAO compact
xx6x TDA mid size
xx7x Frame decocker mid size
xx8x DAO mid size
xx9x Non standard combination

Fourth digit - Frame material (all models had stainless steel slides)
###3 Alloy frame silver
###4 Alloy frame black
###5 Steel frame blue
###6 Stainless steel frame
###7 Non standard combination

now that i think of it, Shooters Choice in Waterloo Ontario has a bunch of DAO sig 226 police trade in's. Reasonable conditiion (ie holster wear) around 595 i think.

Please post a full range report when you get it.

I'd love to hear some first-hand opinions of the gun.

I will for sure.... Read everything I can find online, seems to be mostly about the sub-compact..... Im getting the full size, and then the exchange .45......
