I recently bought a Browning BAR Shotrac Hog Hunter in .308 was surprised to see it produce a 1MOA-ish group of Federal soft point (no idea idea what the bullet weight was) during my barrel break in.
I bought the rifle mostly for hunting but part of me wants to try and do some precision SAPR-style shooting with it. So, my question is: are there any good do it all .308 bullets out there?
I don't really want to have to work up two loads, one for paper punching and one for hunting if I don't have to. I really don't want to use the ridiculously expensive Nosler partition bullets I have on hand for paper punching. AMAX are accurate, relatively plentiful and cheap-ish, would they take out a deer / bear / moose?
I've spent almost all of my loading time doing precision shooting with my .223s so I'm not as familiar with the .308 options.
Thanks in advance!
