Any election purchase plans?

the OIC itself (by defenition) is a form of legislation.

A minority government (as you gave example) will have a lot of touble ramming something like this through.

The cons didn't attempt it with a majority even.

An OiC may be used when existing legislation enables it. The Firearms Act provides for OiCs.
The process does not involve ramming it through. OiCs are regularly used for all sorts of purposes.

There's a problem with our government ? Don't they do everything in our best interest ?

I thought this was the greatest most free nation on earth with legal free speech ?

There won't be any grandfathering or compensation if things go awry, a minority government can prohib all semiautos by OIC in the backroom on day 2.
So I am 80% certain to lower my spending habits for the next week or 2. Perhaps some money to the CSSA instead.

I'm actually thinking about selling my SG 542. Not because of the election result but because I just got engaged last month and I'd like to sell the gun to put money towards wedding costs. I will replace it with a much cheaper non restricted rifle. I also have a Beretta 686 that I was thinking about selling and down grading to a nicer pump action like a browning BPS or pick up a used Antonio Zoli.

Planning on picking up a Ruger SR22 handgun for the family to shoot (Xmas gift) and a CC SA20 and/or C8IUR 11" or 14.5" (here's hoping they become available asap) for myself.

Seriously concerned over the Liberal majority and what it's going to mean to be Canadian over the next few year's.

Definitely dark days not just for for shooters, but for all Canadians as we will surely descend into a greater abyss of debt that will be difficult to recover from; I expect our dollar to fall even farther as this happens.

For those posting/thinking a complete firearms ban/buy out or worse w/o compensation isn't possible, just ask what the Australians were thinking when the exact same thing happened or the English before them.

I know it can seem like a difficult or insurmountable task to accomplish, but we need to be proactive and let our government know we would not be at all interested in having our firearms taken away.
Now is the time to support our firearms associations financially and more importantly increase the knowledge base and number of firearm users/supporters by getting new shooters to enjoy a fun and safe day of shooting and then getting them signed up for their PAL course...

We must unite into ONE voice of responsible firearms owners and make a stand before it's to late and only bolt action rifles via Bill S-231 or worse is our plight.

Cheers D

I'm thinking of getting something, would technically be my first "black rifle".

I should first get my restricted licence, actually, but I'm not sure I will even get a chance to before Christmas......always too busy and now I'm sorry I didn't challenge it earlier on.

Also got a surprise bonus from work, so it's easy to just toss that at a new gun.

I think we are all going to be needing every cent we have in the next few years, and I will be halting my purchases for a good while.

The dollar is taking a dive. It reach a all time low of .634US under the last liberal government. So you can kiss some of your buying power good bye.
