Any IPSC shooters out there?

i am a v.v. newby at the sport - do not even have B.B. yet
however, the club members and the dang internet have provide me with what i need to know, like what do i want to do?

what i want is to shoot production. something alluring about unwrap the gun and shoot it. no mods allowed (well maybe some wrap around grips). i feel it levels the playing field.
also, ammo costs, so i want to shoot minor
the club members have been very generous in their input and letting me handle a variety of units.
so my recomendation: CZ75 SP-01 Shadow. IPSC ready. has a different frame mold than the 75B that allows the hand to sit really close to the barrrell. my groups improved immediatly with this gun.

I shoot a Glock 17 in PD, Bul M5 IPSC model in Standard. I've played with the Beretta 92 & 92 Elite II without much success. I've also tried the Para Ordnance P16-40 and it was a lemon.
Currently I'm thinking of buying a CZSP01 Shadow, but I'm not selling it yet. I first started playing in 2000.

STI Spartan

I am anxiously awaiting delivery of my STI Spartan - a 1911 in 45acp with adjustable sight (sold to me by a great Canadian GunNutz advertising member) to HOPEFULLY:jerkit: improve my IPSC score so naturally I recommend this handgun for this specific activity (well I am bias  ....)

Here is a picture for your info (not shure if the pict will be posted...):

Good luck in your selection.

I'm looking at purchasing my first pistol and I would eventually like to start competitive shooting at my local club. For all those IPSC shooters reading this...

What pistols are best for IPSC?

What is your dream handgun?

The best pistol for IPSC is one that YOU can shoot reliably and ACCURATELY.

I use a STI Trubore in 38 super. Great gun. I use rimless brass, had to tight the tension on the extractor and it has ran great since.

i shoot ipsc with a springfield armoury 1911 .45 its a bit big for ipsc but a good caliber would be a 9mm or .40 s&w, also a gun with double stack mags makes fast reloading easier than a single stack like mine.

I presently shoot a Glock 22 in .40S&W but I'm looking to buy a CZ-75 SP-01 Shadow in 9mm. Awesome gun, probably one of the best for production in the 800$-1000$ range. Of course you could get a Tanfoglio Stock II for production but that would cost you arround 1800$. My dream gun would be a Tanfoglio Gold Custom Eric. This is Eric Grauffel's gun( if someone doesn't know who is Eric Grauffel, it's easy, he is the best of the best:D).
