I do not know how many High Standard handguns I possess.................quick call Wendy so she can take a gasp..............hopefully her last.

At any rate, all the semi 22s are fine shooting pistols. I have some early ones as well, and they all function with SV ammo just fine and are quite accurate.

Got one of those two shot derringers for fun. Different points of impact between the barrels at any distance.

Have a revolver as well. One that looks like a single action but is a double action. Not real accurate, but it is a 9 shot meant for bush carry if that were legal.

I think a lot of folks under rate the Hi Std. And those copies that were made in the late 80s - early 90s which I cannot recall the name of were junk!

cdill, you are thinking of the Michael, Right ( Spelling?)
I have a bunch of Hi Standards, Olympics' to Victors , and couple derringers, Thou they are not in the same class as the target guns.
I have collected and sold them for maybe 40yrs.
I run into people that complain about feeding , it is the mags, as there is no feel ramp, the mags have to be right to feed
When the mags are tuned properly they feed 100%
After market mags are light, not harden steel , like the original, easy to adjust, but I don't like them
Factory ones have to be done with a proper tool, you can buy them, I just make them.
Hi Standard has/ had a spec. sheet for the mags, but I find my eye is better.
The remade Texas Hi Standard has went out of business I hear, their parts where good, though I never had a gun.
One of my good old shot guns was a J.C.Higgens semi auto made by Hi Standard.
BTW, I said this before ,Hi-Standard is the only US made gun that ever won a gold metal in Olympics.
They made a lot of hi end exp. types to get there as well .
They had a " custom shop" ages before all the other companies did.
One other thing all the models where built to hi quality, price difference was in features, triggers, sights, etc, and they made conversion units for most you could order. 22 short or 22 lr for the shorts guns.

I would love to have a High Standard . See them come up used from time to time . Only limiting factor being the lack of reliable magazines . Are the Triple K mags any good ?

First handgun I ever fired was a .22 Sport King. Almost bought an HD Military last year from the EE, but got concerned about parts availability so I passed on it. Regret it now, of course.

I have a Sport King 103M in the nickel plated finish, a Victor and a 102 Sport King Carbine. They are fun to shoot and far more accurate than I am. The Victor is a piece of art, absolutely beautiful. A fairly recent purchase it has become one of my favorites. The mags are pricey before exchange and just plain hurt with the 40% tacked on! I have had very good luck with Triple K mags for my Browning Challenger but the reviews for their Hi Standard offerings are not very good. The feed lips are reported to be made of too soft a metal and as a result they quickly become unreliable.
Enjoy your Hi Standard.

I had a Victor for a while. Loved how it shot. Traded it, a Smith model 52, and$500 for a three calibre walther GSP in 1992. Otherwise I'd still have it. Well made and great shooters...

I am not sure what company you are talking about, may be a good thing.
I have a lot of newer one, but I love the 102, 103 series, fit and finish is top notch, I have 102 Olympic and that thing is unreal.
BTW the mags for the milt. grip and slant grip are the same, other than the bottom base, , the slant grip locks on the back of the mag, and will as a rule hold the Milt. mags in.
Last year Western gun parts had new Hi Standard mags, not triple crap, I have not check since.

No, I've never owned a HS. But one of the one's purchased recently from that venue was on consignment there from a buddy.

NAA.

Mine seems to be in great condition, I'Ve run some snap caps through and they all fed perfectly, firing pin marks are deep and clear. I'll probably throw a new spring kit in just because.
