cdill, you are thinking of the Michael, Right ( Spelling?)
I have a bunch of Hi Standards, Olympics' to Victors , and couple derringers, Thou they are not in the same class as the target guns.
I have collected and sold them for maybe 40yrs.
I run into people that complain about feeding , it is the mags, as there is no feel ramp, the mags have to be right to feed
When the mags are tuned properly they feed 100%
After market mags are light, not harden steel , like the original, easy to adjust, but I don't like them
Factory ones have to be done with a proper tool, you can buy them, I just make them.
Hi Standard has/ had a spec. sheet for the mags, but I find my eye is better.
The remade Texas Hi Standard has went out of business I hear, their parts where good, though I never had a gun.
One of my good old shot guns was a J.C.Higgens semi auto made by Hi Standard.
BTW, I said this before ,Hi-Standard is the only US made gun that ever won a gold metal in Olympics.
They made a lot of hi end exp. types to get there as well .
They had a " custom shop" ages before all the other companies did.
One other thing all the models where built to hi quality, price difference was in features, triggers, sights, etc, and they made conversion units for most you could order. 22 short or 22 lr for the shorts guns.
