I like the look of them. Never handled one but I have a Redhawk I like very much so if I ever decide I have enough money and enough time to shoot it that I can add another restricted, a seller of a Security or Service Six would have a good chance with me.
I think I have 5 no 4, just sold a .38/200 made for India according to Mr. Lever.
So my 6” barrel showed up and it looks pretty good. Nicer than the photos.
Now I just need to find a blued Service Six.
I have a blued 4" Ruger in Service Six format (square butt and fixed sights) but marked Security Six, not sure the back story but it's a nice gun and a good shooter.
I have a Security Six in .357 with a 4" barrel. I carried a S&W .38 spl with a 4" barrel for several years but I am a big Ruger fan. I like the Ruger's beefy frame and style. It fits my hand just right.
Well Leg,
I am aware of a blued Security-Six, 4" barrel (however, with adjustable sights) for sale. Of course, I would like to get it, but would need to re-barrel it as well, as I do not have 12(6) privileges. If you are interested, I can send you the details. If you are not, I would be grateful to you and to any others who would let me know of availability of longer barrels.
I hope you don't mind if I ask, but how much should something like that be worth today?
Thanks everyone.
I'm not sure, I paid $400 for this one about a year and a half ago. Worth more than that in my opinion. I wouldn't sell it for that.
