Any MAS fans?

I'm shooting my newly restored, post war MAS-36. Fun rifle to shoot, too bad I'm so slow at handloading :d

I've been wanting to buy a MAS36 and keep saving for one.... then always seem to blow the savings on another Berthier.

Have Garand, will trade for MAS rifles lol

I have a MAS 45 too. Was given the barreled action plopped awkwardly into an M98 stock but I found the correct stock for it minus the butt plate and sling swivels.

It is not as accurate as I would have hoped and it is sometimes indecisive in whether it wants to make the cartridge go bang.

Nice solid adult-size .22 to hold and shoot though.

Checked Canadiantire in Barrie Ont no luck.Anybody have a source for bits and pieces,Im looking for a Bayo and mags. Also need reloading dies.Anybody reloading? What are you using.Dave

I bought some new PPU brass from Tradex. I'm using 180gr, .308 SPs from Speer on top of 42.5gr of IMR 4064.

Robert Chombart (although not exactly an objective Frenchman) was involved in several rifle designs, modifications etc (including the RPA) for Bisley -- he certainly knew a thing or two about what made rifles accurate at long ranges; he was unequivocal that the MAS 36 was the basis for the best sniping/target rifle in service use. He particularly thought that the 45 degree lug engagement was a design feature that minimized dispersion with factory loaded ammunition. I found that pretty interesting! Course the French also gave us the Citroen and the Renault Dauphine ! two extremes in technology!

Have a 36-51. Refurbished in the sixties. Very good shooter. Got when buying a Polish m44. Package deal.

Got real lucky on that deal. Mint 1951 m44 which is rarest year and the MAS.

No, because I'm still kicking myself for taking an M96 Swede in trade when I could have had an M36 in newish shape. Putain!
