I have read seven billion messages here on the forum, a lot of great stuff but some of it is still over the head of someone who doesn't know the ins and outs of the AR style platform. I know the pat response to this question is "go to AR15.com" but is there something here that will give me a lowdown on what's up with this Lego gun system for big kids? So far I know that you start with a lower, which I assume is a fully registered restricted firearm by definition. And then after that you bolt on whatever other parts you desire from there? From a legal standpoint, it sounds wise to squirrel away a lower in case the laws change overnight (which they would), because no matter what we will be able to buy the other parts later - right?
One thing I really wonder about it whether or not a lefty MUST get a lefty AR. Is it a matter of shell ejection? Or is it just about ease of access to safeties, mag releases, etc?
Thanks for any n00b info!
