Any new shipments or cool finds ?

If memory serves well, the initial price estimate on the Type 81 was something like $1200 back in the day it was first announced/speculated on, and this was with a much stronger Canadian dollar.

I just don't know if I'd want to dish out that kind of money for a rifle that essentially looks like an SKS / Vz-58 hybrid... and is made in China to boot! (the land of notorious corner-cutting when it comes to mass produced goods)

The perfect price range for this would be $600-700 (like the CZ-858 were when they first appeared), but actual price will probably be close to double that.

:(

yeah I am not paying anywhere near $1000 to $1200 for a type 81. I could buy a couple or three other guns that I want for that price,or a vz/cz . The type 81 is just not worth that much

But its not a glorified sks...

No?

It's not an SKS type stock?

Nor an SKS like short stroke gas piston? With the same caliber?

But you're right. It's definitely NOT at the SKS price point.

Go forth and dump a handsome amount of coin at a Chinese Norinco.

More than $600 would be too much for me. Norinco is just too cheap for me to justify spending that much money on them.

Norinco is just an exporter and arms dealer, various factories / arsenals make the firearms.

Chinese military firearms from the 1950s onward are pretty high quality as far as military firearms go. A lot of the "Norinco" commercial stuff is pretty terrible though.
