I take the opposite view.
1- Headspace is almost always within spec on AR-platform builds;
2- Even if it isn't you can't adjust it anyway;
3- The criticality of headspace is grossly exaggerated in most people's minds. Headspace would have to be excessive by multiple millimeters to be an actual safety hazard. The far more probable result is unreliable ignition and short case life if you reload. Not exactly unacceptable risks in a range gun.
So in the end, why bother? Put the gun together and shoot it. Worry about it only if problems develop.
