Any Plans for a .308 AR? MAJOR UPDATE MAY 8 2014

LOL... agreed. Plenty of firearms have names given to them by both manufactures and owners alike... ie: Para-Ordnance Black Ops Combat and Black Ops Recon. Alexander Arms Ulfberht. etc. (I would tell you the name of my own 1911, but you might laugh...)

I still think there should be a contest. ATRS, any thoughts on this?

dude, do some reading...

d:h:
There is one pic of the side of the receiver, from what I've seen and pricing has been nothing but speculation. I haven't read this thread in a while and don't really feel like sifting through the last 14 pages of what people think the rifle should be named.

The point was, that people have asked for price and pics over, and over, and over again. ATRS has said, repeatedly, they will not provide either until the rifle is ready. If you had read thru the thread, you'd know that, instead of popping up with yet another silly demand for something that just isn't available to us right now.

will you be selling individual parts? for example, if i wanted to put my own barrel on it, would it be possible to just order a complete receiver?

We will be offering several different complete rifle models with different barrel lengths/contours and caliber and in a few different furniture offerings only.
We have no plans of selling just uppers or lowers at this time.

The rifle HAS a name, it had to have either name or model to get an FRT #. Seeing as it only took 3 years to get an FRT # do we really want to have to wait how much longer to go through the whole process again over a name change?

Ah, so 'Modern Hunter' is official then. Cool. I guess that's all we needed to know, we can put the rifle-name-talk to rest now.

WHOA!!! WHOA!! What?! Uppers or Lowers?! That is down right awesome to hear. I can't wait for this to come out now, as I am probably gonna be selling my savage and everything with it just to grab one of these bad boys! Sorry I am just a little excited as that makes it seem like your rifle is gonna be way closer to an AR than I think any of us could have ever dreamed. But then again that might be something you said in a previous post on this thread and I haven't done enough reading. Also where the hell is the like button for the statement, that is seriously super awesome to hear.

I guess question would be, is will it take AR-10 or AR-15 parts? I was just thinking of starting to stockpile parts so when it does hit shelves I will be able to customize the hell out of it when I can afford one XD

3 years?!? holy crap. well, some of us appreciate these efforts and will be patiently waiting for you to take our money when yer ready ;)

I think he is excited about the ATRS rifle being AR like ie. upper + lower design.

Thanks, I was going to point that out to trich as well but figured I wouldn't. Yes I am generally excited at how much this is turning into a legitimate NR alternative to an AR. I think most of us were hoping what it was going to look like, so that we could take one of these bad boys hunting and watch the FUdds heads explode when we pull out the collapsible stock and line up the 45 degree sights on a deer and pop off a round. That is going to be just awesome. Thanks ATRS for making all our dreams come true, can't wait to hear about pricing and see the final design, now I know it's going to be awesome.
