Any Plans for a .308 AR? MAJOR UPDATE MAY 8 2014

late 2014..... right in time for my 2015 winter elk and wolf season up north ;)

and I hope I'm not pestering you with this .338F federal version but..... would I need to provide you with a barrel in that chambering or can you produce it?

The FUTURE plan is not only to scale it down for 223 size calibers but also to scale it up to 300 Win Mag and possibly 338 Lapua.

I have to admit, I don't get it. If you're going to be offering the rifle in cartridges that large, why isn't 8mm Mauser an option?

I'm a little saddened by your limited sense of humor, hit machine is a great name for a rifle.

Pardon. ... did you just say 338 lapua :sok2
I know you guys were talking 300 win and 338 fed but if your serious about a non restricted lapua let us know because i would buy one of those before the 308.... i would have one already but the only one available is restricted so i went with a pgw lrt3 50.....

The problem with 8x57 is mags. Now IF you were willing to front the thousands of dollars that mag molds cost and the additional expense of R&D to re-engineer the platform, we can talk. The other problem I see with 8x57 is that the day of cheap surplus ammo is long gone, hence my MG34 and MG42 sit silent most of the time.

Same mags are used for 300 Win and for 338 Lapua, so why not?
Now remember FUTURE development.

We build a few rifles every year in 338 Federal, so no reason we can't do it for this gun as well.

The restricted you're talking about is the Noreen 'Bad News', right? (the only other .338 Lapua semi-auto I can think of is the AA Ulfberht, but that's not even out yet, and who knows if it will be NR or not...)

But if this rifle is offered in 338 & 300 Win Mag, that would be awesome.

By the way, does this rifle have a name yet?

It's the RCMP that doesn't have a sense a humour. If you named a Fisher-Price water gun the "Hit Machine", they would classify it prohibited.

And forget 8mm... if you're gonna go big, then GO BIG, and make a .50 BMG model.

Yes i was referring to the bad news... i have my restricted but i do most of my shooting on my property and other places. I rarely go to my club, really only keep my membership for my att and the sporting clays.
