Any Plans for a .308 AR? MAJOR UPDATE MAY 8 2014

Me and some buddies were at the local range yesterday and one of the RO's pulled out his AR-10. He was super nice and let the 3 of us have a few shots each. It was pretty awesome, at 15 pounds the bang was loud, the recoil wasn't bad.

An accurate, semi, Canadian .308
Man I can hardly wait. I was considering some of the other non restricted like XCR or keltec. But i really want something accurate. Hope this all pans out.

Thanks for the update ATRS!
We are all eagerly awaiting the outcome.
I would love to add some more canadian tools to my safe.
.303-Long Branch Lee Enfield, .22-Cooey, .223-Dlask and... .308 ATRS?

Nothing yet on our 308 semi auto.
We did the happy news that our semi auto versions of the 1919M4 and M2HB are classed as prohibs despite being IDENTICAL in every respect to the TNW versions.
However at least we now know how to solve that issue.

Very sad indeed...what about some MG-34's...?
Still on the fence about buying a FAMAE .308 - ATRS make the decision for me!

I just purchased an MG34 and an MG42, the plan it to take them apart and see what it will take to replicate them but obviously in a semi auto form.

In all honesty with not knowing if or when the feds will deal with this, the Famae would be what I would do. At least then you are shooting which beats the hell out of waiting. Besides even if they did say NR today we still would be 9 months getting the 1st run of them made. The other thing is then you have justification to buy another gun as 1 can never have too many:cool:

The whole idea of this project is to try and build something that the feds will not claim is an AR variant.
There is no predicting what they will come back with. Several firearms have been deemed prohib based solely on look. The GSG-5 comes to mind. Despite there not being 1 single part that is interchangeable with the H&K MP5 the RCMP deemed the gun a prohib simply because it looks like an MP5.

To my thinking all of humanity should take great offense at this sort of logic or lack thereof as it would indicate that all woman are prostitutes simply because they look like females and that every guy must be a rapist simply because he has the hardware from birth.

What really NEEDS to happen in this country is for the gun culture to file an action against the government rather than just weak lobbying in order to get firearms laws and the RCMP both tuned up and brought into the 21st century.
Modular firearms are the firearms of today yet by their thought process if it was applied to the automobile we would all be forced to drive Model Ts

Agreed 110%
