Been shooting this calibre for some decades now and just loving it

There is a few for sure, Ted(why not?) does, he was just in my shop showing me a few bullets, I will start hunting with one, I bought it mainly for bison but might use it for other things too... the idea is to start reloading for it when I get my kit!!

The calibre shines when one drops factory load and suddenly a new world opens up

250 accubond will do everything on this continent

I have yet to act on it, but 9.3x62 caught my attention recently.

I blame board member "patricksbb391" completely for anything that follows!!! :ar15:

Cheers

I am new here and don’t claim to know anything other than what I have done in the field
I lived in Europe for 40 years and was introduced to 9.3 calibre while chasing wild boars and it really is super
Please try it
Low recoil, huge wound channels , cheap to reload
Good on barrels
To be point in the last decade I even shoot rabbits with it just to practice and prepare for Africa

I'm 'looking'...

And Africa is a dream for me to, just not right now due to financial considerations... Here's hoping I live long enough to realize that dream!

I have a number of hunting rifles that I can choose from, yet I find myself bringing my Husqvarna 1600 9.3x62 more often than not. Bison, moose, bears and caribou have all tipped over using the 9.3. I even brought it on a sheep hunt this past August, unfortunately didn't come across any legal rams.

I am just an old boy so if you like any information please fire away
Glad to share
Again I must stress I don’t know anything more than what I have done
Been receiving emails from PH I have hunted with over the years and they are really suffering because of current climate

Yup
I would say 9.3 has the right blood alcohol level for critters , everything just tips over when contact with 9.3 for some reason

Just another calibre. They are very similar
Imagine you are in Africa and shall we say jonhanneberg, walk into a gun shop sinceyour airline mishandled your ammo box and you ask for 35 whelan ...

Know what I mean

No animal will complaint when hit by either
Really down to your skill and choice of bullets
I would say there is better choice of 9.3 projectiles around than 35 ... especially outside North America

I'm running 286gr at 2500fps, it's a fairly stout load, nearing 4000ft/lbs of muzzle energy. Little stiff on the shoulder, but manageable.

My first decade with 9.3x62 I used to push it to the limit like what you are doing.
Later and with more experience I back to a node lower that that and guess what ...things keeps dropping and not a complaint
Now I run 250 accubonds around 2450 (of course depends on your tube)
Put a good muzzle brake on and bobs your uncle
Because I lived in Europe so I had the use of silencers since 2002 and it really was fun

Wait till you go subsonic ...... now that’s when mama piggy gets pissed with me

What a wonderful pipe
Lots of scratches , that’s what a hunting rifle should be
Would you like to share more stories with this tool ?

I have a CZ550 in one and I handload 270gr Speer bullets for it. So far it has taken black bear, elk and moose in northern BC. Works well for the larger game!

Oh I totally understand what you are saying. I was just wondering what I could ballpark compare it to to get my head wrapped around it. I shoot a 7x65R and often tell people who look at me sideways, it’s kinda like Europe’s 30-06 .

Germans and Austrians are very compartmentalised when it come to calibres
7x65r typically goes with a kipplauf for chamois / GAMS
Wonderfully flat
Are you using RWS brass in a Blaser ?
I cannot say any 9.3 can be as flat as 7x65R having used both in the field.

I have several in service... I use them for almost everything. I'm also using the 250 AB @ 2450 fps
