Anybody out there reload for 9mm & .45

tks SKgun. I shoot a M&P, and lead is really smokey, I think it is fron the wax that is on the bullet, please correct me if I am wrong. Do you get your LRN from in province as well? I contacted Plains ammo supply (in Gull Lake SK) and they are sending some 125gr LRN my way. lol I ordered 2000rnds as the price is better form him than in town at my local G-store!

I'm fairly new to cast bullets myself, but far as I know, the lube smokes, and Titegroup is supposed to be smokey with low pressure loads. Don't take it as the gospel though. I've shot really light loads with the .40S&W, and they smoked more down low. I stepped up the powder a bit, and it cut down on the smoke.

I've only put 50 rounds of pussycat cast loads through my little 9mm, so I'm going to try the same throw with shorter c.o.l., and also try stepping up the powder .3(next size up with auto disc I think) to see if it smokes less.

I got the bullets from a fellow CGN'er in town(thanks kf123!), but I might have to make a call to Gull Lake to stock up.:)

You are probably not going to get cheaper quality lead than you can get from Plains in Gull Lake. I have been shooting it for years and never had problems. When you have reloaded for a while you will find that there is no perfect powder or bullet weight. Some guns just like to eat different loads. Odds are that after a while there will be 3 or 4 [at least] different powders in your stash. All Lee carbide die sets come with load charts that have max powder charges for various powder and bullet combinations.
