Anyone bought a new Savage lately?

However all accutriggers will do what I explained, not all rem triggers are :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:ed up right out of the box. Even if they had 90% failure rate, savage has 100%.
I am not saying Savage is garbage, I am not boasting up another maker, I simply pointed out a serious flaw with the accutrigger. I would probably buy another savage without the accutrigger, but it seems the sheople buy so many that's all they want to produce.

I have 4 accutriggers and none will do what you explained. I have been sitting here laughing at you Savage haters, trying to figure out what real world experience to throw at these rifles to make them de ####. If I do anything more drastic to figure it out, i will have to classify myself as retarded for treating a rifle that way. Then again... I dont have to concentrate to figure out how to install a clip (mag ) in one.

I never said "decock".... Sheesh

Anyway, I am done with this thread, some people's reading and comprehension skills are just, well...

Ya just can't fix stupid.

if you have a chance to check out the American Classic model14/114 for an American made rifle that does not cost $1800. Very smooth action, great fit and finnish and the accutrigger breaks crisp in my new 250. fs

Looks like mine might not be coming in now, this sucks ass.

Apparently there was a big gun show in Vegas last week for store owners and such and the gun I ordered last April might not even be ordered anymore. I guess the big shops like Elwood Epps have a deal that they get at least 75% of their order or they get paid back a profit if they don't get 75% of their order which means when the big gun companies can't produce the amount ordered it's the little gun shops like my local shop that gets shafted and I get left out to hang. Friggan bull:bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:, don't blame Epps, they're doing it the smart way but I get it up the arse in the end.

FUBAR. Savage can take their 14 250 Savage and slowly slide it up their arse, I'll stick to buying old used guns from now on.

Decock? What are you talking about sks? The only decocking mentioned was the completely defective and obviously untested design of the edge/axis bolt. Pretty hard to deny that one since savage has a recall on them!

If you are referring to the accutrigger needing to be reset, I would suggest your try to re-read and improve your reading comprehension.

Next, someone is going to say "but they're accurate" which was never in dispute while the point zooms over their head like a 747....

Ya just can't fix stupid.

That is unfortunate for you.

Decocok was the word I come up with because I didnt feel like reading through all the posts to find the exact words you used. Despite the fact that you and albertakid dont like my choice of word, I cannot make my accutriggers on my rifles do what you say. But hey...you claim 100% of them do it, so it must me true.

I'm in the hospital with my son and have limited availability to find it now. I think there is some documentation on the savage shooters forum.

Basically, the first rifles had one spring in the bolt and the bolt would de #### itself on closing. The newer rifles have two springs in the bolt. If you have an older one with one spring, you can call savage and they will fix it.

Sorry to hear that. I hope its nothing serious. Best wishes

Hey FS........sweet find
My model 12 F class took some time to get clean as well, and thats a stainless barrel, mind you shooting varget doesn't help, seams to be a dirty powder on the best of days.

If you add ALBERTA BOY to your ignore list this thread really isn't to bad....poor dudes got some anger issues that should be dealt with by a professional before things really go sour................

So I reproduced the trigger lock up Alberta boy was talking about on my 116.

To do so I had to push the trigger to one side so hard I thought something would bend. I can't see me ever doing that while using the rifle so I'm calling it a non issue as far as I'm concerned.

Yep. They can be super accurate. They will never escape their design or fit and finish. They're cheap garbage for people with low standards who will take any pipe strapped to a 2x4 that can shoot under an inch.

I have a model 16 stainless in 325 WSM which I traded for a scope. It shoots alright for what its worth. There are better rifles out there but they cost more, and this is accurate enough for me . I prefer my A-bolt to this action, the tikka is nice nice too once you replace the bolt cap, and buy all the other aftermarket parts to improve it, mind you its still got a stock that feels like a toy.

And if someone says owning a savage makes me an idiot, I figure folks would probably find them to be a big mouthed a-hole know it all rooster-sucker.

Just my opinion though.

Start your own thread.

Yup.

It was I that posted about the retarded accutrigger, and it doesn't take much pressure to lock it up. If it was not an accutrigger nothing happens, you just click off the safety and fire, with the accutrigger you have to use the bolt to free up the trigger.

The accutrigger is a bandaid fix for an extremely poor trigger system, they should just use a better trigger.

So what came of this trigger? What was the fix? I can see why you dislike the Accutrigger if you have had this experience with it, but neither you or Alberta boy have told us the outcome. Keep in mind that every manufacturer has accidental discharges. I had just read a thread on CGN about a Tikka that went off when the bolt was closed. Having the safety mechanism lock as the Accutriggers do will let you know that the trigger has gone off when not intended too. Not that it is an excuse to exerscise poor QC at the factory. It seems you are picking on the safety mechanism when really the only beef should be with the accidental release of the trigger. It would be interesting to know how common the trigger releasing issue is.

By my way of thnking I would like the same Savage safety system on the trigger of all my rifles. IF something were to go wrong with the trigger and it releases it would simply be a matter of a trip to the gunsmith to figure out what is wrong. Whith out the safety you may instead be mourning the loss of a loved one. Just a thought.
