I pulled out all my carcanos this weekend and decided to take a group pic. I wasn't planning on posting it so I didn't worry too much about how perfect the shot was, I cut out a couple rifles but the majority are there. I was wondering how many other carcano fanatics are out there and I was hoping to get a thread going where we could show off some pics. If anyone wants to see more pics or wants any info I'm happy to discuss them and post more pics.

enjoy.....

thank you, im still working on it though....theyres a bunch of models and they all look pretty much the same. next is a type I when i find one at a fair price

im fond of the m91s in particular, the third one down isnt walnut or beech but a 1914 terni with an ash stock. if anyone knows anything about carcano stocks and why that would have been used please let me know. im far from being an expert and haven’t found much online. it also went through arsenal repair but i cant make out the date in the cartouche

No not Frank, he has a LOT of Carcanos but I'VE got the Oswald rifle!

Complete with original scope from the same family that brought them to Kleins in the early 60s and the same surplus ammo Oswald used. Very good accurate stuff even 55yrs later.

thats a beautiful oswald rifle dave. it came assembled as is or did you put it together from parts?

my scoped 7.35 carcano m38 is “apparently” a bring back from north africa, theres a couple articles online and some gunboards posts on it. i really dont think it was bubba and definitely not arsenal done but most likely done in the field. it has what looks to be a beretta scope mounted on it but i cant identify the scope. it actually still had sand in it when i pulled it apart and the scope and reciever are painted tan. its an oddball.

It's quite accurate, the bore is close to mint. But the scope mount is cheap and it loses it's zero easily. I am convinced Oswald used iron sights, which can still be used with this side mount. It would also explain his "high" head shot (if he aimed at his upper torso) since the battle sights are for 200m and JFK was only 81m away. I am likely going to do some more testing of the WCC surplus ammo next year with a timer - scope vs irons.

you will have to let me know when you go out. i have made some reloads for my carcano, have to play with it again and see how it is doing. didn't land any on paper last time.

Very nice collection, indeed! Not much gets said on here about Carcanos. I have three or four, of which the oddest one is a short little 7.35. Nasty little bugger to shoot. I've only fired it a couple of times, and that was thirty years ago. Knowing what I know now, which is still very little, it might have been machine gun ammo I was using. Very loud!

Thanks for sharing!

ahhh the machine gun ammo lol ive put that through my carcanos accidentally, it works but its terrifying. i got it on brass clips for the machine guns. i still have the clips and original boxes somewhere, the bullets were pulled for projectiles and used.

frank30 asked me to post a pic or two, so I will do so. First off is the little 7.35. I have owned this little feller for probably 40 years+-.

I have one of those brass charger clips for a machine gun. Found it in a little gun shop in Victoria many years ago.

Pics of the small stuff is rather blurry, something like my close range eyesight.

that’s beautiful. hold onto it, its a gem. 127,000 ts were made chambered in 7.35 ( less than the cavalry, and short rifle) and of those gardone only made 9000. so yours is the least common 7.35 made by the least common arsenal by numbers. really cool peice.

7.35 is a great little round! My 7.35 Carcano is Finn marked as most of them are. I wonder if the Soviets got some ideas from this round when they moved to 7.62x39 (originally x41).
