Anyone Else Hunting On Christmas Day?

I was out Christmas eve looking for coyotes and other tracks in the fresh snow, nothing moving, not even a rabbit track. Sat over some bait but nothing had found it yet, left b4 dark and got home just in time to catch the cool shoulder from the missus. :p

Cold here this morning - 15. I find it amusing that the Prairies are green and warm but it's white and cold here, what's with that?

Can't see getting out today but would love to, but OH! It's Sunday! Can't go hunting due to ALL the walkers and tree huggers I never see 5 miles back in the woods:jerkit:

Yea, I dont believe in global warming but if this is what it is keep it coming.

I bought a set of Rocky reversible insulated camo/ winter camo bib and jacket last spring and tried it out yesterday.

Lo and behold, Rocky, in their infinite wisdom, put the waterproof (windstopping) layer on the green camo side and the winter side lets the wind and water blow thru to the side against your skin.

Serves me right for buying anything Rocky, I should have known better based on the last few Rocky items.

Two more ruffies in the freezer... Saw two rabbits also but they were sitting there 20 feet away and I had the 12 gauge...not much of a challenge and I don't like the meat enought to pull the trigger...great day all in all

Not today but Moose hunting tomorrow. I have two weeks free for moose hunting. I was off most of the fall hunting but when I was gearing up for moose hunting mid November I got called back to work. Anyway I have two weeks free now

Hunted in the am and this evening. Nothing.. Just before last light a guy on an ATV come down the tracks and onto the farm.. At this time I was off my stand in awe.. Started yelling swinging my bow in the air haha!

he was quick to go back.

Tomorrow i plan to make sure the no tresspassing signs are still there.

I noticed you did not say the position of the grouse when you shot them.I hope it was a broadside shot, and they where standing.Just checking.

My gf and I went for a "quick" coon hunt last night. It was supposed to be a short run at my fathers place, but the hounds went on a tear and ended up down the road at a racetrack. Thankful for gps as they weren't tongueing and I wouldn't have had a clue where they'd gotten too. Would've been looking for them this morning if it wasn't for the tracking collars.

No hunting tonight, but I'm planning on getting back out tomorrow night!

Didn`t get out yesterday cause of the wind and for sure won`t bother next two days. Woke up at 5 to hear the wind howling, Environment Canada says 40-60 with gusts to 80. Would be interesting to see what the drift would be on a 32gr. bullet at approx. 3900fps. Good for shooting around corners maybe.;)

Self and wife did our annual Christmas day "game drive" and spotted a herd of 34 California Bighorns, incl 5 rams, and 17 mulies(no horns). The 2 biggest rams were feeling a little bolshie and treated us to a full on head butt.

We treated a bunch of the local California Quail to a Christmas morning handout at the bird feeder as well.
