Im considering buying Alfa project in 9mm and looking for anyone qith 1 hand experience? How it shoots, accuracy, recoil? For me the reason to get one is that i already have 9mm, so reloading is easy, i have the equipment and materials, the only other caliber i would consider will be 357, for its versatility, and just to have something different, what's your opinions guys?

I like mine. Haven't had it for very long and only about 200 rounds through it so far. Imho it is a very good value for your dollar. For me the trigger is decent. I miss my Ruger Blackhawk, wish it came in a dedicated, non convertible 9mm. So for me the Alfa is the next best thing. Revolvers are lots fun. Sometimes I'm not in the mood to pick up brass.

I've had one for a couple of years now with about 2000 rounds through it. Very happy so far. The accuracy is great, much better than I expected, at least as good as my S&W 586. The factory grips feel kind of small but they are comfortable. Recoil is pleasant and well controlled with the 6" full under lug barrel. I highly recommend the spring kit from Rusty Wood Trading. He also carries a few different styles of wood grips and extra moon clips. No regrets here :)

My 9mm AP has been fine. I fitted it with the Rusty Wood spring and that lightened up the trigger pull to where it's much like my tuned S&W's.

Took it out recently after sitting in the safe for almost a year. Not sure why, just got wrapped up shooting other stuff. It acted up and would not fire all the primers consistently. The Rusty Wood spring IS a bit "iffy". That's why he provides a couple of spacer washers to use for upping the preload on the spring just in case it's not quite strong enough consistently.

In my case though it's more likely that the oil used and fouling from before has "set" into a glue like grunge. I'm sure that once I clean it and correctly oil the hammer with a light body oil that it'll be back to shooting like a champ.

As for accuracy I found that I didn't have any trouble with matching my roughly 3 inch size groups at my club's indoor 20 yard bullseye nights. And that's as well as my eyes and nerves let me do with pretty well any hand gun I shoot. I'm sure the gun itself is better than that. But it's as good as I can manage.

I keep thinking about trying one for IPSC revolver division.

It's not quite a big and heavy as the S&W 686 variations. So you'll find that there's a touch more kick to it than those somewhat heavier and thus more stable guns. The Alfa guns are pretty much a size and weight match for the K frame S&W models.

On the other hand the shorter cartridge length should make flipping the moon clips in a lot more easy and possibly faster to some degree. I've not used my own in any matches other than the local speed steel events. And I've never used a moon clip conversion with .38Spl so I can't really compare other than realizing that there is likely some difference.

Shot my Alfa 9mm for the first time today. Love its caliber, size, ergonomics, overall quality of fit, handling, accuracy, quick reloads with moonclips and reasonable price. It's got a matt blued finish that is ok but not as attractive as the polished blue of a Smith Wesson model 10, for example. Finish is not an issue for me.

It came with the reduced power spring, so my CCI-primered reloads did not ignite reliably, but those that did hit the plates solidly and showed this gun has a lot of potential. I'm sure that feeding it propery loaded federal primed ammo will make it as reliable and enjoyable as any SW or Ruger revolver.

Those with large fingers may find the shape of the finger rubber grips may cramp your middle finger and make your knuckle sore. Reshaping the finger groove is the cure. This is a handy and relatively compact revolver with roughly the same size and weight as a Smith and Wesson K frame.

Even with its short 4.5 inch barrel, I could hit speed steel plates at 10-15 meters.

Nice....glad you like it.

I love mine....both 9251C and the 2251C.

They are both in stainless and I've had them for 2 years now with many rounds through it.

I fit the factory grips very well but wish Hogue or Altamont made some. I'm not fond of the ones out there now.

Be interesting to see if Alfa Proj are in process of developing anything new.

I keep thinking about trying one for IPSC revolver division.

The problem is that moon clips are about $10/ea, so my 9261 is just a range toy and I used my S&W 625 for IPSC as moon clips for that are less than $1/each (I like to have 100 moon clips for IPSC). Now that 8 shot minor has been approved for Revolver division starting 2017, you are better off getting a S&W 929 for IPSC.

Blueline has everything or knows where it is, for the Alfa's as they are the distributor. I've spoken with them a few times and they are very proactive on customer service.
The Alfa's are the best deal going on revolvers today in Canada. The Czech's now how to make guns.

Moon clips and accessories,

Where did you buy it in BC for that price?

I got extra moon clips from Rusty Woods when they first came out. I think they were only ~$8 each. Can-down posted a link to where you can now buy them for $10 each. TK custom said they would make them for $7US each, but the conversion just kills that :(

I just picked up a 4.5" stainless Alfa Proj 9mm revolver. I'm really impressed with the finish for a $600 gun.

Now, where does one find a holster for it? I have a holster for my Ruger SP-101 and its way too small.

I just bought the 4.5" stainless version as well. Looks beautiful and shoot pretty good as well. I find the grip is kinda small so might swap that out. I don't have the holster but I saw it on the Blue Line Solutions website (http://blsolutions.ca/alfa-proj-4-5-leather-holster-black-right/). Prophet River has it as well but only the 6" version.
