So anyone else with one of these less common Brno's?

Got the confirmation, then got the message that they no longer had it, so I keep looking. As soon as I get my hands on one, I'll let you know.

I am very frequently impressed with the BRNO wood...often it doesn't appear to fancy....until you remove the cheap factory varnish finish....then the wood can be spectacular...
This sent me downstairs to dig out my .222 Fox, which I bought second-hand a year or two ago. I understand that the Fox wasn't the best of their line, (the bolt travel on mine was a bit rough; polishing the raceways helped a bit) but the wood is pretty decent despite the light, lacquered finish and might be a candidate for refinishing "when I get the time."

Just find this tread, was shearching for BRNO Model 5 pics...

I bougt a BRNO ZKK 601 in 223 Rem on feb 06 1988 at Canadian Tire in
Rimouski, Québec. After bargaining the manager I got it for $379.99 instead of
the $399.99 they were asking. I bargained for it cause they had it on display
for months... I was told they had two, the other one had been sold before.

Still have the paper work! Even the factory target!

The serial number was 32###. The warranty card was to be mailed to
Pragotrade. The factory target shot at 100m shows a .875" 3 shots group
which printed at the bottom of a 145 mm wide X 160 mm high black rectangle
with a 10 mm white vertical band splitting it in halves.

I later (march 03 1988) ordered Lynx base and rings from Pragotrade for it
and paid $65.00.

I traded it years ago after having bought a Rem Synthetic Varmint in ... 223
Rem! Bought the Rem when they first apear in 1992, had to wait 9 months for it :-(
Sold the BRNO 3 or 4 years later, it is now in the area of Ste-Anne-Des-Monts,
Québec.

Hope it is of interest...

Jocelyn.
