Howdy Guys,
I have a LH Ruger M77 from around 90-91 (bought used). I was loading it one day when I realised that the control round feeding that it was supposed to do was just pussh feeding and the extractor was working over the case head once it was mostly chambered. I looked at the bolt and noticed the the half ring of steel at the bolt face that I thought should be on the top while feeind was actually on the bottom; this was the reason that it did not control round feed.
I was hoping someone here had a new LH Ruger M77 that they could look at the bolt face for me and tell me which side (top or bottom) the halg steel ring on the bolt face is on when feeding; or if ther is any at all.
A question for the gunsmiths, or anyone who has ahd this issue; can this ring be cut into to allow it to pick it up like a Mauser without cause any major problems (ejection, etc)?
