I've been trying to get some denser shot for reloading (or a decent price for factory shells) and this is the best I can do so far... about $60/kg plus shipping, this would be FOB Alberta.

Any interest?

Quotes taken from supplier emails;

I am looking at a solution to the problem under discussion: I have access to Nice Shot, a tungsten /tin alloy suitable and approved for waterfowl, which is manufactured in China. The Chinese don’t seem to think that exotic birdshot will be made into WMD, so importing them is relatively simple, and the pricing is attractive. Then why don’t I do it, you ask? I have done it, and I have some Nice Shot in stock. The real beauty of this product is that it is the same weight as lead, and only slightly harder (about 16 brinnell – lead is 11), and it can be substituted in lead loads. Hodgdon has tested it and recommends that loads should be 1500psi less than the maximum for a given gauge (eg. 12ga maximum is 12,000psi, so maximum Nice shot load should be 10,500psi).

I have all sizes in stock except #4, and it costs $80.64/kg, which I know it out of your price parameters. The reason I bring this to your attention is that the reason the cost is so high is that they will only ship relatively small orders by air freight, so the price killer is the shipping, not the product. I could reduce the price by shipping by sea/ground to around $60/kg (which, at $27/lb is approaching your price parameter). The problem is that to do so the minimum order is 300kg or more. I can sell 100kg quite easily in the next few months, but not 300kg. If you, and your associates want to purchase 100kg, then I can justify ordering a 300kg shipment, and pass the cost savings on to you.

Eventually, when the advantages of Nice shot become more well-known, I will be able to justify making larger purchases and increase sales because of the lower price. Just so you know, banks refuse to finance businesses that deal in firearms and ammunition, so I’m forced to finance such speculative ventures out of my own resources.

I'm assuming that is what he is attempting to reduce the final product price to $60/kg.
That is; the product price is $60/kg not the shipping alone.

If you are interested, I may have a line on some. I have been offered it by various suppliers, but not being a SG hunter, never thought much about it. What sizes?

Size 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 if the price is right. Primarily 4, 5, 6 if if the price is border line.
What quantities would you need total, and per shot size? and where do the price breaks lie for larger amounts?

Is yours Nice Shot, or something else?

I spoke to several manufacturers. There is no room for us in the deal, but they will sell direct, including DHL shipping for ~$60 per KG. OP can email me for details.

Interested as well.Steel shot sucks, but the cost of these other non toxics is huge. I'm trying to feed a 10 ga. 2 oz. or 2 1/4 oz a pull! So, eight shells /lb. 2.2 LB/ Kg.
So what, 18-19 shells worth of shot for am mere $60? Before hulls/ wads, powder/primer, equipment (even amortized over a longish period).

And for a 12g. 1 oz ( around 35-37 rds/kg., 1 1/4 oz. loads 27-28 rds per Kg. This stuff is pricey! And I know, guys, it's probably, surely cheaper than it can be had elsewhere for the same or a comparable product. Plus made in CHINA, synonymous with cheap a$$ products.

Talk about ridiculous though. Not trying to offend anyone here or try to belittle your efforts on bringing this stuff in, but boy, the cost associated with waterfowling are huge. Would be nice to see some real customer friendly prices on a viable alternative to steel and a better, cheaper to buy replacement for lead.

Good on ya though for trying to drive the price down a bit.
Can bismuth be poured through some sort of shot maker that is comparable to a mini shot tower for lead? Same process? For those who say bismuth goes for $7 /Lb base metal price, maybe it would be viable if it could be bought in bulk and turned to shot via a private person already into lead shot making?
Adapt method/ equipment? Get enough people together to make it viable?

I don't know, maybe just so much wishful thinking.
