Anyone like the RED "Canadian Edition" Sub 2000 Gen 2

There was a zombie edition gen 1 Sub2k. It was OD with a quad rail and bag, maybe some other things unique. Now that, even though it was zombie theme, looked good.

I looked for one on the EE for a time but alas, no luck. I bought the standard gen 1 glock mag.

Pretty decent motorcycle/pack gun although it stovepipes occasionally with federal American Eagle 9mm, only has about 200 rds down the pipe.

I got one off EE almost new, Gen 1, was told had 50 rnds. I had 4/5 stove pipe shots. for the first 60. Then I got 'er real wet, niice & lubed & left the bolt {which was very stiff} open for a couple days then took out & only had ONE out of 50, now about 200 rounds later {about 300 total} never a fte/stove pipe, no issue after my first 100 , even on those cheap aluminum cased 115 & 124 grain. I plink those allot, Which were the main ones having issue at the beginning. & I must say very accurate little gun, I just use factory site up to 50 meter so far. I recommend to anyone.

Maple leaf, red on white would have been nicer. But any US manufacturer that pays attention to Canada is a friend, some turn their noses up at us.

Jokingly, with our current government, all red might seem fitting, People's Republic of Canada.

I'm waiting for all 24 to rot on the shelf because of the colour and the price come down to sane levels for a plastic play time gun.
Then I may swoop in and grab one. I don't care a shred what it looks like, it's the ridiculous price tag that keeps turning me off the plastic sub2000 :(
I think it's a cool/novel little plinking toy but not for that price.
Lets see how long they can afford to have them all collect dust before the sale starts! lol

I think you might have a long wait before you see anyone "blow them out". We bought the maximum number of red Sub 2000's that Vault would allocate to us and we are more than 1/3 sold through. If any dealer is having problem selling them we would gladly buy them up (at wholesale) and would be able to sell them all eventually. Currently we do not have any black ones available. Remember what works for some people wouldn't even be considered by some else. And yet with so many people not liking these guns...we have 83 posts and 2711 views so thanks for all the advertising and keeping this thread alive. Phil.

I have the black one and I don't think the red one is bad at all. The rifle is actually a lot of fun to shoot. Also accurate with the built in irons. I don't think it will take long for all of them to go out of stock.

In case anyone still thinks these red Keltecs are not going to sell well...we are 2/3 sold through our initial allotment. We still have not seen any black ones recently. Phil.

The red Sub 2000 doesnt look the best as is, but if you start putting black rail ladders, afg, red dot/ scope etc is breaks it up a little bit. One of the guys in my shop is building one.

I picked up a black one back in the fall when Wanstall's brought in the first batch, and I was pleasantly surprised with it.
In my opinion, the PROS outweigh the CONS...
PROS
- Compact
- Glock Mags (*edit - this was a PRO for me because I already had a bunch of Glock mags)
- EASY to Clean
- Accurate to at least 100m (benchrest)
- Reliable - have almost 500 rounds through it and not a single issue, including cheap aluminum cased ammo
- FUN FUN FUN

CONS:
- cost is a bit high, but this is Canada so no surprise there
- I don't like the way the mag release pushes into the palm of your trigger hand, but that's a minor gripe
- lots of plastic - how long is it going to last?
- great front sight but cheap plastic rear sight (you can get better aftermarket rear sights)

All in all, I'm happy with it and getting some great use out of it. For a 9mm carbine, it's great, especially if you want to pack it around in the bush.

I went to P&D today to buy a rail for my model 700, and since I was there I checked out the red S2K. I hated the idea of a red S2K. Really, everything I have is black, I don't even like the look of stainless. And if I didn't have more black ones than I needed I would've ended up walking out of there with a new red gen 2 today. I find it is much nicer in person. It's a flatter darker red than I expected and with the black it actually looks pretty good. All I have to do now is stay out of P&D long enough for them to sell out because I really don't need another one.
