No experience with 16.5" barrels, but my 10.5" barrel will push a 110gr vmax 2260fps and a 135gr Sierra varminter 2065fps, both with H110. Alot of people on the net say their 16" barrels get them ~2400fps with a 110gr (1400ish ftlbs) and 2250fps with 125s. At 100y the energy would be in the 1050-1150 ftlb range.

So there is a new action SS Stars, 3 lug rem700 footprint. Practically same everything as R7 which is 4 lug. Is it cheaper option than R7 in same calibers?

3lug will feed the smaller cases that the 4 lug won’t. And slightly less bolt lift on the 3lug.
