Anyone own a Heckler & Koch USP?

Held a full size HK USP in 40, in Detroit. It's only $829 there, we get ripped off on everything here in Canada. Feels great in the hand, well balanced, like my Sig 226. If the grip or the gun is bigger, it's not by much... Can't wait until I get mine.

I saw a HK Mark 23 (Mark something), the thing is just massive! Looks larger than a Desert Eagle, think it was $2300, DE in 50 was $1650 SS and $1450 blued.

I've got a USP 9mm, had it for 5 years. Must be around 7500 rounds trought it, it never jammed, never failed and still look brand new.

frankly, I don't think I can ever let it go; everytime I think I could I just pick it up and change my mind. Some say the price is not worth it, but personally just looking at it reminds me why it is more expensive than say the M&P I carry at work. You can feel the difference just handling the thing, not to mention when you shoot it. There is no way I can shoot as good with the M&P, and even tho I fired maybe 1500 rounds with the M&P, I got more failure than I like out of it.

The only thing I'd recommend for the USP is to handle one before you buy. The blocky grip And/or the mag release are not for everybody, it works perfect for me and my medium hands but it is not the most ergonomic grip out there. I personally prefer the mag release than the push button type as I never change my grip using my middle finger.

So my USP is a DA/SA with safety/de-cocker, lever/paddle mag release, double stacked, polymer framed, aggressively stippled, polygonal rifled barrel, recoil reduced... You get the idea. There is nothing like it out there.

The only thing that sucks is that I cannot get a 9mm USP compact, but I'll get me a 45CT eventually.

I thought cops in QC carry Glock 22s?

Sûreté du Québec use the Glock 17 . Montréal, Québec city and sécurité publique use the Walther P99.

The 35 city local service police choose they gun. I believe sureté municipale thetford mines use the M&P.

I used to have a USP tactical and I liked it until a bad handload went through it. The gun did it's job and other than a tingly hand for a few min I was not hurt. The only reason I would never buy another HK is that the customer service I received was terrible. The Canadian importer looked at it said it was a handload and sent it back to me. They never offered to get me parts or help in any way. They wouldn't even return my phone calls.

I bought a Glock 21 to replace it for half the cost and am so happy with it that I just bought another one. I now have 3 Glocks and will never own another HK. My opinion is based completely on the customer service I received and has nothing to do with the gun itself which was great until I broke it.
