I recently bought a new rifle that has a black synthetic stock and stainless barrel. I currently have a very good quality scope, but it is a Matte Black finish. I was leaning towards buying a new silver scope, so it matches. I have never scene a stainless barrel with a black scope though. Does anyone have a black scope/stainless barrel set-up and any pictures that they could post???? Just so I can decide for myself how it looks.

Polished barrel/receiver.

I've got a 10/22 stainless barrel with a black scope, I think it looks ok as the silver scopes look like a kids plastic toy (IMO).

Donnie, your gun looks wicked awesome.

peace..

I have 3 stainless rifles wearing black scopes at this moment, and I wouldn't be surprised if most stainless rifles out there were also carrying black scopes. I don't remember ever seeing a silver scope while hunting, and even at the range they are rare. At least at my range they are.

I would have to agree, with seeing the pics that it looks pretty good. I think that I will mount my extra, black burris fullfield II 3x9x40 on it. Thanks for the pics, you guys just saved me a few hundred $$$$.

I have a Remington 700 BDL with a Remington Mountain Rifle stainless 7-08 barrel, stainless QD rings, and an Elite 3200 matt black scope. I am insterested in how it shoots, how it looks is secondary. Its up to you what you put on your gun.

The animals shot with my stainless barrelled rifles wearing black scopes did not notice nor seem to mind . . .
I have never owned a stainless or silver scope.

It's a superficial thing to say, but I don't like the look of silver scopes or the glossy black ones on that note. Usually, the idea is to reduce glint, not add to it. Of course, if you like silver scopes, that's your choice. Myself, I prefer something with a matte finish, and I have some that wear Krylon camo too.

The shine makes no difference on a target rifle, and when they are well matched they look quite good. The problem is it is very hard to match silver plastic and polished steel.

I would stick with the black unless you find a particularly good looking silver unit, and have no plans to change it out. The black unit will swap more readily.

I agree.
