I've been shooting my Sig X5 X series and PPQ's in NRA competition and doing very well. Funny thing a few years back suddenly at the NPSC I started seeing a whole bunch of Walther PPQ's in the hands of the guys serious about winning the Production classifications. The word got around very quietly and suddenly they were popping up in the hands of the Agency that brings home nearly all the trophies. Almost like a secret, they didn't want anyone to know. This did not surprise me as my PPQ Q4 Tac was used (not by me damm it) to set the NRA national record. I hate it when someone shoots my own guns better than me....
What really annoyed me was how a PPQ could nearly match the accuracy of my Sig Classic X5's, but for about 1/4 of the price. They just perform well and more importantly they are easy to shoot well with the combination of grip, barrel and trigger. Many guns have been put in a machine rest and group fine....but there is a difference in ease of performance in the human hand. *That is what Walther has mastered with the PPQ* The results on paper don't lie.
Fast forward to the PDP, simply put, an improved PPQ, better grip, slide (for duty purposes), deep optic cut and a slightly better trigger. This gun is simply the best Polymer Production Duty gun in existence. It's like they went to users and asked them what they wanted, how to improve the PPQ and then actually listened.
